It's not like we haven't been through this before Here are two very different methods. One far more successful than the other https://www.businessinsider.com/his...philadelphia-treated-1918-flu-pandemic-2020-4
Social distancing shouldn't end too soon Right now, many are probably wondering when social distancing measures will be lifted and we can return to our normal lives. "Interestingly, if you look at the data from St. Louis, you notice that their epidemic curve shows two peaks in the fall and early winter of 1918-19," said Erausquin. "Once the pandemic seemed to be declining, the city rolled back its social distancing measures. It did this too early, and flu deaths went up again. Health officials then put the measures back in place."
And we can look at the Republican leadership in Florida and say that the Dem. leadership in California led to 10% less death from the disease than the death rate in Florida. And that the death rate of Democrat led Montana is 90% less than the death rate of Republican led Florida. If you just want to play a number game and ignore all other factors.
Truth is we don't know the infection or death rates here in Florida. Florida didn't begin to respond till Disney and Universal closed the parks, spring break was over and everyone went home. There's data that indicate people picked up infections here and took them home to spread to others. Here testing has been hit or miss at best and at this point the best we can do on deaths is go back and measure real vs expected deaths over the period in question. I've heard of spikes in deaths in nursing homes around the state but the Governor has made a point of limiting free access to this data as well as limiting testing. Want a Blue v Red comparis pick Blue for your state. A place where there are fewer external influences and compare to the Dakotas.
Were those pensioners from Hoover Vacuum Co.? Anyway, blaming Dems. is an incredibly misguided narrative.
False, that information can be found on Florida Health. Conversely people have brought the virus here from other states. Again false, Florida has been number three out of fifty states for testing, so far 653,081 people have been tested with 45,488 positives and 606,204 negatives, the remainder are test's that failed to provide any results. . False, the data is available at Florida Health and the Governor has fifty strike teams doing testing at nursing homes, where approximately 34% of all the cases in Florida are located.
That information is, at best, incomplete, at worst willfully false. "ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – More than 482,000 coronavirus tests have been administered in Florida, but Gov. Ron DeSantis admits the number also reflects people who have received more than one test. News 6 is running these numbers through our trust index to find out what percentage of our population has been tested. We have been asking the governor and the Florida Department of Health that question for weeks, but despite repeated emails and phone calls we still do not have a clear answer. During every press conference, including Wednesday, Governor Ron DeSantis gives the number of Coronavirus tests statewide, "We are close to inching up to 500,000 tests administered since this began," DeSantis said. The state does not give the number of people who have been tested, and there is a difference. You may recall this exchange I had with the governor a week-and-a-half ago. "Are retests included in that number?" we asked “Yeah so they are, its a good question,” Gov. DeSantis said. Here's what a retest is. If you have a test for COVID-19 and it’s positive, the Florida Department of Health recommends 14 days of isolation, after that, you should have another test. Twenty-four hours later you should have another test to make sure you’re negative. All of those test results go into the number on the state’s dashboard, even though it’s one person. Potentially thousands of people, including healthcare workers receive multiple tests. We asked the governor the same day if the state would update the dashboard to show the number of people tested minus re-tests. “And actually you know what we can do, I’m going to see if they can parse it a little bit more,” the Governor said. “So I want just the fresh tests, I think that’s better.” There was a change. The state changed the title on the dashboard from "total tests" to "total people tested" Unfortunately, that could be even more confusing, because the number still includes retests. Last Sunday, we asked the governor again if the state could show the number of people tested and he referred us to the states roughly 600-page daily report. "This chart right here is just phenomenal so they'll do number and percent of positives. These count the number of people whom the department has seen lab results by day. The percent is the number of people who test positive for the first time, divided by all the people tested that day, excluding people who have previously tested positive. So that's the number that you look at," he said. After more than a week of multiple phone calls and emails, we asked the Florida Department of Health if they could give us the number of unique people who have been tested. We are still waiting. Either they don't know the number or they aren't releasing it. We have been asking the governor and the Florida Department of Health the question for weeks, but despite repeated emails and phone calls we still do not have a clear answer. Currently, the state is close to 500,000 tests, but we have no idea how many people, and what percentage of our population has been tested." The Governor has been purposely obfuscating the numbers since early March. People who were showing symptoms could not get tests because they hadn't been to China. DESPITE the fact they had been to one of the parks or OIA where every disease in the world passes. As of now access to the actual counts are hidden from view.
You can believe false media, I will go by the only numbers they have from Florida Health to work with and distort as they lie to make something out of nothing. They are simply too lazy to do the research they need to do and expect Florida Heath to provide them with the breakdowns they would like to see. Everything is provided here, with links to the core numbers, but media is too lazy, or too ignorant of basic math to be able to understand what those numbers mean. https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/96dd742462124fa0b38ddedb9b25e429 And of course their readers/viewers, being equally lacking in research skills, buy into their false news. Sad., very sad.
You mean the department controlled by Ron Desantis? The Florida governor whose nose is so far up Trump's ass that he makes Trump's liver quiver? The post included information from a local news provider and shows the state unwilling or unable to provide accurate data. It also shows, by the states own admission, that the state doesn't know how many people have been tested. That story made no attempt to speculate on what the real numbers might be. It simply reported that the state admits its numbers are inaccurate. Seems kinda dumb to trust a source AFTER that source has told you it is inaccurate.
Which is false, that information is on the Florida Health website. Totally false, the testing data is posted daily on Florida Health. BS it's simple math, media is trying to turn this nothing into something and it is clear people are falling for their BS.
As noted in the story which I'm sure you refused to read, the report reached out to the state on several occasions for updates and clarifications. The State never responded. And, as noted in the story, which I'm still sure you never read, the state admitted that the numbers did not accurately show the number of people test, only the aggregate of tests administered. So just when did you develop this blind faith in government? Or, is it only governments with Republican governors you trust? So we know, in the future it is assumed you will never post a link to or provide information from anything other than a government site. Because government is all we can trust.
Really, post a media link offering a more accurate information. Florida Health is the only source of collected county health departments information in the state, too bad you never figured that out.
How does playing partisan politics help in a pandemic? Would it not be more effective to Work Together?
