How do you think a military draft would work now?

  1. Women and LGBT would be drafted along with men.

  2. Only men will be drafted (equality isn't important relative to victory)

    4 vote(s)
    19.0%
  3. There will not be a draft- we'll be defeated before we force women and LGBT into combat.

    3 vote(s)

A draft now would be COMPLETELY awful. No logical serviceman (especially one who has been trained in the last decade or so) would disagree.

I went to OSUT (basic training+infantry school) over a decade ago. Even then, we had kids that refused to train, cried all the time, and even a few threatening DS's that their parents would sue them.

This is the world we live in. A bunch of entitled snowflakes.

Let me make this perfectly clear:

If they don't want to be in the military, I sure as **** don't want them here. I don't want some scared little snowflake attempting to provide cover for my actual soldiers in a fire fight.

Recipe for more casualties than needed.

They did the same when I was in the army in the 1980's it's nothing new even for volunteers..

All the more reason to weed out those who do not want to be here. It's very dangerous. As a leader, I can tell you 100% if you don't want to serve with the man next to them, they are out of my unit. However, the discharge process is long and horrible so it's not easy for them :)

Permission must be given to the cadre to run roughshod over boots with a bad attitude.

Boots with a bad attitude should be dealt with immediately upon getting to their first duty stations. In many cases, unit commanders from OSUT/Basic will highlight counseling statements so it's the first thing their new leadership sees.

I got this HILARIOUS note from one of my former soldier's leadership at AIT. "Please pay a visit to private X during in-processing. He's such a nice guy".

The private should have been beaten and blanket-partied into proper mental preparedness long before getting to you.

that'd be great, although a rough time in the beginning, but then it'd smooth out... the worst thing we ever did was drop the draft, it lead to all this disrespect & coddling we endure today...

Back when most of the wealthy served anyway. Back when blacks were starting to get opportunities to show how valuable they actually are, something that has largely been lost in some communities due to reliance on government.
And back when gays knew what they were doing was wrong and hid it from view. Our biggest mistake in that regard is not having the same views on all sexual immortality.
It's unfair that gays have been singled out in that regard.

I'm sure he had been. And I sent a fresh E5 (who was more than happy to finally become an NCO- long overdue) to greet him.

Well the U.S. Navy being the most liberal and politically correct branch of the U.S. military that no longer turns out sailors, has gone so PC they are removing urinals from warships and replacing them with PC toilets.

Oh yeah, they are installing stalls in the head as safe spaces for snowflake sailors.

U.S.Navy warship enlisted head before the U.S. Navy was used for PC social engineering.

Name those foreign enemies who threaten to invade us and what are their chances of success?

Mexico started invading the USA back during the 1970's.

Los Angeles has been under Mexican occupation for decades.

10% of Mexico's citizens have already crossed the border.

    Chances of success ?
It all depends how successful President Trump is.

The invaders have a lot of support from Democratic party, the California state legislature and Governor, globalist, liberal activist judges who legislate from the bench and CPUSA and its splinter groups like Antifa, A*N*S*W*E*R* Coalition, Party of Liberation and Socialism.

Also MS-13 and the drug cartels.

All of California is and has always been part of Mexico since before the 1500s. It was the Americans who invaded, not the other way around. LA was always Mexican and the people have re-claimed what was theirs all along. MS-13 is not alien - it was created by American unlike the Russian, Irish, and Israeli mafias. Those latter groups are your invaders. The others are all domestics who have been fighting foreign invaders for centuries. In their thoughts they are patriots protecting what is theirs - exactly how you would feel if someone tried to invade your home.

No I don't, but I think it takes a far bigger priority in OERs and unit priorities today than it did in the 80's.

If it happened and was needed I would hope there would be one Gender "Soldier." One uniform, one bathroom and shower, one barracks. Because once they are truly in the field in that kind of conflict there will be no place for "privacy."

According to the Obama administration (to include Hillary Clinton), Russia and China.

I don't recall them listing a percentage of success rate.

Odd that Obama wanted to be so flexible with Russia yet consider them such a grave threat- when just in 2012 he laughed at the notion but in 2015 was shaking in his boots.

Oh well. That's a liberal for you

Under the "Laws of Nation" and "Natural Law", Mexico never established legal sovereignty over what is California today.

One must occupy the territory more than a couple dozens miles from the shore.

One must establish roads to conduct trade.

One must exploit the land and natural resources.

The sovereign (government) must keep on contact with the territory not just visiting the territory once per year to collect taxes.

The Californios gave up on the Mexican government and wanted to either become a British colony or a territory of the United States.

May explain why California surrendered to the U.S. troops four times during the Mexican-American War and surrendered quickly to the Bear Flag Republic.

We 100% agree. Let's give California to Mexico. The US will withdraw all military installations, federal defense, and federal entities. Mexico can handle the rest.

I've never been in such agreement with you!

Whoops @Mr_Truth sorry forgot to add withdrawing federal aid- as we agree, California is not a US state and should be returned to Mexico. They will treat them right! Nice safe government
