    what's wrong with choice?
if I want to pay for a cheaper ticket and take on the slightly higher chance of an unsafe flight that should be my choice

So Taco Bell managers make more than $130,000 a year? Because that’s the median income of pilots in the US.

Then you and I differ in our views. I want to live in a country where I know that the airplanes are safe. Period. I don't think we should have to make a choice between price and safety. Not if I'm living in what is touted as 'the greatest nation on earth'.

    Way to drama it up.
You know how many aviation accidents have happened in this country?
    Around 240.
Do you know when the first commercial airline started in this country?
    1914
Do you know how many commercial airline flights there are in this country per day?
Since 2013, it’s been over 100,000 on average.

    Just stop already.

Yes, that's problem...regulators...if they continued to ignore the Alaska Airline jackscrew maintenance schedule, the accident never would of happened.

Yes, the dead in the Alaska Airline crash are really happy with the savings they made. Can't argue with a happy customer can we.

I doubt they are...but they were free to make the choice they did. That's what freedom is all about. There are risk in every day life. If you want to live a completely safe, controlled life....go to prison

Facts are facts. All you had was some nonsense emotional outburst, disguised as relevance.

The "point" you made in your thread title was a complete miss, but it makes for wonderful anti-free market/free enterprise propaganda, doesn't it?

if you want to fly on a known safe airline then best you check that airlines safety record and probably pay more for the ticket
    your problem solved
you see that is how the free market works some airlines will opt to be the safest choice charge a little more but have a good safety record so to attract those consumers that safety is a priority
and some airlines will opt to be the economy choice and will sacrifice not as good of a safety record for the consumer looking for the cheapest ticket

Honey, pushing a pencil around on a gov't form does not make anyone safer if someone is inclined to cheat like in the crash of ValuJet 592.

The left wanted the airlines deregulated so the “common people” (the lower class) could fly. They didn’t like it under regulation when only Republicans could fly.

Thread goes down in flames faster than the worst plane crash in history... starts ignorantly "fascist hollering" user's avatars.

    Yep. Leftist.

To the topic, already destroyed by other posters, a rare thread when I don't have to add anything.
