Except she didn't win at all. That's more than just inaccurate.

To this point. If the stock market is doing so well, and unemployment is historically low, and Trump has saved the economy.... exactly why is some new tax plan so important? Seems like things are doing fine as is. Something about "if it ain't broke..."

    Your opinion is irrelevant.

"I never refused to go to a meeting that President Obama called, a bipartisan meeting. It never occurred to me that I could just say ... 'I'm not showing up.'

That strikes me as a lack of seriousness about the matter before us, which is the funding of the federal government of the United States for the rest of this fiscal year.

So you'll have to ask them why they think it's appropriate to refuse to meet with the president of the United States over something as significant as how we're going to fund the troops and all the other needs that are addressed by the spending decisions we make every year."

    That's my idea of genius!

    Here's what I posted there:

Everyone with half a brain could predict that Chuck and Nancy would use this meeting as a gimmick of their own - and Trump beat them to it.

I can see that picture with the empty seats being highlighted when Trump shuts down the government and blames the Democrats. Can anyone see that Trump placed the opposition seats next to him - as though stating that he is willing to deal - and they are empty! Trump will not allow open borders and he will have his wall - and the best way to get it is over the bodies of Chuck and Nancy and this picture gives him the weapon he needs.

Given the way they have made it a habit to make Republican leadership look bad, does anyone believe that the Republicans would allow the two snakes to bypass Trump for a deal - now that would be stupid.

Chuck and Nancy have given Trump a "shut down the government blame free" card. Trump wants to dismantle the swamp and a government shutdown would allow him the opportunity to start the job - what departments can he totally shut down without anyone noticing?

Chuckie and Nancy might stand high with their special interests, but how how will they stand with their constituents when that picture is used to support the looming shutdown. How will they look after a few days when some of their own party desert them and go along with the Trump agenda.

Shanks likes to throw around the word "stupid" when talking about Trump - but I'll call the man "genius" as he manipulates his enemies into serious mis-steps.

So you counter my statement that Trump is racking up great success with statistics on how some emotional liberals got their feelings hurt?

It's not even been a year and we're doing better in some metrics than we have in the last 15-20 years.

I'm sorry if some liberals out there have to scream at the sky because of it.

Indeed. If Trump is stupid, what does that make the people he's steamrolled?

That's true. I think all of us agree that she was a poor candidate. Even the liberals agree to that.

What's important to note is that running her down now is a waste of time. It is preaching to the choir.

    :-????

I said, Although he has only been in office a few months, Donald Trump’s presidency has had a major impact on how the world sees the United States. Trump and many of his key policies are broadly unpopular around the globe, and ratings for the U.S. have declined steeply in many nations. According to a new Pew Research Center survey spanning 37 nations, a median of just 22% has confidence in Trump to do the right thing when it comes to international affairs. This stands in contrast to the final years of Barack Obama’s presidency, when a median of 64% expressed confidence in Trump’s predecessor to direct America’s role in the world. Across the 37 nations polled, Trump gets higher marks than Obama in only two countries: Russia and Israel.

Do you have a reading problem?

    Right.

So we have a country that floundered economically and globally under Obama, but boy we liked him he was swell is the liberal response.

We have a country that is surging economically and globally under Trump, but he's a meanie is the liberal response.

You want to say that the fact that we are doing far better under Trump is, well, trumped, by how people feel about Trump.

I don't care if people like Trump. I care that the country gets stronger.

Running the country is not a popularity contest, it is a results contest.

To liberals, how someone makes them feel is more important than what they actually get done.

i have never been comforted by the opinion by any collective of 37 countries. There are closer to 200 countries so the polls can reflect anything they want to reflect. Democrats of course buy such polls as were they they word of Jesus himself.

I was just saying that she is the reason that Trump was elected.

Also I think Republicans were excited to see someone who wasn't manipulated by being called a "_____ist" or a "_____phobe."

Honestly I think that was why Trump entered the race in the first place not to be elected but to show Republicans how did not give a s*** about being called names.

I wanted one of our fine governors to move up the ladder and still wish Walker had made it to the top. I don't think the media today would have nearly the target to hit as they do with Trump. But Trump is doing fine. I recognize the hill he climbs to crawl over both Democrats and upwards of half a dozen Republicans. We republicans always know we have a few foxes in the hen house and call them RINO. Trump needs more help and then he sails like the modern space age sail craft.

one thing I like about Trump is that no matter how hard the media hits him they only damage themselves and their reputation. I think that is something unique to Donald Trump maybe not future I hope not in the future.

But right out of the gate Trump called out to Media.

I was just listening to Shapiro on The Daily wire and he was saying the next couple of days maybe even weeks are going to be positive for Trump.

I don't like everything he's done. But I will say he has done well.

Seth, can you provide a link to good evidence of that sellout?

BTW, since this thread is about Trump, do you believe what he is saying about the tax plan increasing jobs and putting money into the pockets of the middle class?

There is very little doubt that there is something wrong with Trump.

The U.S. needs all the help it can get from Muslim countries in our fight against ISIS. So what does Trump do? After blowing the conference yesterday that was advertised as keeping the government open for business, after blowing a solemn ceremony yesterday honoring Navajo code talkers by calling a U.S. Senator Pocahontas, Trump today blew away the assistance of Muslim countries by insulting all of Islam. In the process he angered our strongest and most reliable ally, Great Britain.

Trump touched off another racially charged furor on Wednesday by sharing videos from a fringe British ultra nationalist party purportedly showing Muslims committing acts of violence, a move that was swiftly condemned by Britain’s prime minister as well as politicians across the spectrum.

Trump retweeted the video posts from an ultra nationalist British party leader, Jayda Fransen, who has been charged in the United Kingdom with “religious aggravated harassment.” The videos were titled: “Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!” “Muslim Destroys a Statue of Virgin Mary!” and “Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!”

The reaction was sharp in London, where Prime Minister Theresa May, leader of the Conservative Party, denounced the President for embracing Britain First, the far-right party of Ms. Fransen. “It is wrong for the president to have done this,” Ms. May’s office said in a statement.

The official White House position was stated by Sarah Sanders. "Whether it is a real video, the threat is real. I'm not talking about the nature of the video. I think you're focusing on the wrong thing. The threat is real, and that's what the President is talking about."

In other words, it does not matter if the videos shared by the President are truthful or not. The threat is real. That is the official White House position. My God!

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke had this to say concerning Trump's sharing of the videos from a far right British politician purporting to show violence committed by Muslims.

“Trump retweets video of crippled white kid in Europe being beaten by migrants, and white people being thrown off a roof and then beaten to death,” Duke tweeted. “He's condemned for showing us what the fake news media WON'T. Thank God for Trump! That's why we love him!”

I really have no more to add. Trump's disgraceful actions this morning speak for themselves.

You're joking, right? Trump's approval rating is in the mid-30's, about the level of his base, and you somehow think the media's reputation is damaged and not Trump's. Wheee! You are dreaming.

We are talking about Trump here. He will blow it just like he did today. He won two victories. The court ruled in favor of his CFPB head, and tax reform passed its first hurdle. He could have reveled in his victories. What does Trump do? Insults our Muslim allies in the fight against ISIS and our most reliable ally, Great Britain. Brilliant.

Trump traveled to Missouri to make an important speech about the tax reform bill. What was all the buzz about after making his speech? His moronic retweets this morning from a far right British group. For some reason he decided to insult our Muslim allies in the fight against ISIS and our reliable ally, Great Britain. See post #598.

Before one can change things around, one first goes through a period of chaos. That is the level we are at now with Trump as our President.

Personally, I don't think much ever changes. Didn't the guy who replaced George Washington promise change? Politicians have been promising change ever since. There was never anything unique to Trump beyond his outlandish promises which his base bought into, hook, line, and sinker. They still believe his lies.
