Cribbed from a talking head. As Americans, we are trained to say, “We will vote the bleeps out!” Three and one quarter years seems way to long, doesn’t it? But most countries have coups. It starts by the military getting more and more political. Pretty soon “like everyone else”, they begin to get angry “About the country going to hell in a damn hand basket!” Through the grapevine they discover that lots of people are unhappy. Even senators, congressmen, and citizens. People aren’t really up in arms about the suggestion. They dismiss it as generals gossiping at the Officer’s Club. We either ignore it or laugh or make jokes like “They won’t be able to give it back soon enough!” So there it is. (Until General Milley testifies, he’s innocent. This isn’t really about him.)
What we have to ask ourselves about Milley is are we prepared to accept a military coup? I think we may well be because we just saw a political cabal of military and legislators step in and ignore a sitting president to make foreign policy. And a lot of us support that cabal.
First of all, we don’t “ask ourselves that”. With a military coup, we don’t get asked anything, and supporting the “cabal”, actually is treason. At least there are two people on this site who can at least ponder the subject.
Right now, in the US, it appears that the easiest way to take over the country is the Democrats wish list of: Eliminating the Senate fillibuster Adding more states that would be favorable to your party Adding more seats to the Supreme Court, filled by the president of your party as well as appoint judges all of the way down the line Once you accomplish these goals then you can set about doing pretty much everything and anything you want and you can even call it a "democracy".
By making a certain class of people the enemy. Every country that fell to fascism, communism, and tyranny needed an enemy.
Your "poll" is shockingly one-dimensional. The easiest way to take over a country is to give it pure democracy. Lest you do doubt: Every form of government tends to perish by excess of its basic principle. Aristocracy ruins itself by limiting too narrowly the circle within which power is confined; oligarchy ruins itself by the incautious scramble for immediate wealth. In either case the end is revolution. When revolution comes it may seem to arise from little causes and petty whims; but though it may spring from slight occasions it is the precipitate result of grave and accumulated wrongs; when a body is weakened by neglected ills, the merest exposure may bring serious disease. Then democracy comes: the poor overcome their opponents, slaughtering some and banishing the rest; and give to the people an equal share of freedom and power. But even democracy ruins itself by excess–of democracy. Its basic principle is the equal right of all to hold office and determine public policy. This is at first glance a delightful arrangement; it becomes disastrous because the people are not properly equipped by education to select the best rulers and the wisest courses --- "As to the people they have no understanding, and only repeat what their rulers are pleased to tell them" --- Protagoras --- to get a doctrine accepted or rejected it is only necessary to have it praised or ridiculed in the Lame-Stream-Media or by Celebrities on Social Media. Mob-rule is a rough sea for the ship of state to ride; every wind of oratory stirs up the waters and deflects the course. The upshot of such a democracy is tyranny or autocracy; the crowd so loves flattery, it is so hungry for honey, that at last the wiliest and most unscrupulous flatterer, calling himself the "protector of the people" rises to supreme power. --- Plato (with some literary license by Mircea to update it to the 21st Century) Let's face it, 90% of the people aren't smart enough and just don't have what it takes to do the right things to ensure we have good government for the benefit of everyone. Here's a typical forum exchange: Idiot: Iran has nukes. Mircea: Really? What kind of "nukes?" Idiot: You know, nukes. Mircea: Okay, but uranium-based, plutonium-based, fission, fission-fusion, fission-fusion-fission...? It makes a difference. Idiot: You know, the kind that go "boom." Mircea: Alright, forget that line of questioning. What size nukes in kilotons? Idiot: Uh, nukes. Mircea: Yeah, I got that part, but how big are these "nukes?" How much of a threat are they? Idiot: They're nukes. They go "boom."
No you didn't. Milley didn't do anything outside of his job description. He sure didn't abuse his powers the way Trump repeatedly abused his. It's up to you whether you want to be jerked around by puppeteers like those on Faux News or well-informed and reasonable about national politics.
Ironic seeing that only one top politician has called the other side the enemy and retweeted gems like they are “the enemy of the state”. Fascinating how blinding partisanship can be.
I remembered a quote from Mayer Amschel Rothschild about how to control a country that has nothing to do with voting or military power: "Permit me to issue and control the money of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws!" EXCERPT "Before that, "Let us control the money of a nation, and we care not who makes its laws" was said to be a "maxim" of the House of Rothschilds, or, even more vaguely, of the "money lenders of the Old World". This is a play on an English proverb, Let me make the songs of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws."CONTINUED (*) (*). https://quotes.yourdictionary.com/author/quote/594454
Here you go: "The term Fourth Estate or fourth power refers to the press and news media both in explicit capacity of advocacy and implicit ability to frame political issues. Though it is not formally recognized as a part of a political system, it wields significant indirect social influence." (from Wikipedia)
Happy to help. The division of society in France before the French Revolution was separated into 4 branches / estates. I believe that the First Estate was the church / clergy. The Second Estate was the aristocracy / patricians and the Third Estate was comprised of the commoners / plebeians. My guess is that it is relevant in that to gain control of a country, one must first gain control of the Fourth Estate.
I would add other things like importing immigrants from third world countries to dispense entitlements , and trifling with education indoctrination.
I think we should stick with democracy. Even though voting doesn't ever really fix anything, at least it moves people in and out. When we learn to move all the people in and out of office, we will solve most of the problems caused by government.
There will be no military take over of the United States government. No chance. Just gotta wait until 2024.
Q. How is the easiest way to take over a country? A. Infect its system of public dis-education with bolsheviks.
"Destroy the family, you destroy the country. The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation."......."Give me 4 years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted."....... Vladimir Ilyich Lenin
BigMedia was used to hide any and all information along the line of the following ....... If BigMedia had been incapable of hiding information such as what Dr. Syed Haider stated then....... FEAR could not have been used to get seventy or more percent of the population of most nations to pressure the politicians to finance Free Vaxx.... at taxpayers expense...... which has turned into a TRILLION dollar industry! Do we know anybody who studies FEAR and how to use it to control humans or creatures who have about ninety seven percent human DNA?????? Could it be that using FEAR to significantly control the majority of a population may be the least expensive, (and perhaps also the easiest way), to take over a country???????????
Democrats learned long ago that the best way to take over is to control the 'narrative' through liberal propaganda fed to the masses by radicals in the "news" media. Then they 'lubricate' the delivery of their political philosophies with enormous social welfare programs so that recipients of all these handouts will know who their friends are -- and VOTE accordingly....
