Sure, I get almost all of my interpretations (hidden meanings) from other sources. Most of the material is not uncharted territory, so there's not a lot of opportunity for originality. Literal meanings are also subject to diverse applications.

Note that non-canonical sources such as the Apochrypha, The Book of Enoch, The Book of Judas, The Pista Sophia, Midrashes, etc., sometimes state things that add to controversy. Cain lived 700 years and was afflicted every 100 years, as were Ishtar and Innana. Eden is the Babylonian Mesopotamia, Gan-Eden, and Josephus said that the one river flowing through it ran about the whole earth and was divided into four parts.

Cool, we find a lot who say that ONLY the bible can be used to reference itself.

How is it possible to reconcile the belief that the bible is the infallible with the ridiculous amount of evidence showing that Noah's Flood never happened?

A book supposedly inspired by God, with God telling the writers what to write, which is what most Christians believe the bible is, should have no contridictions at all.

Although the most things are not as contradictory as lots of people today seem to believe this is even in the basics a completly wrong idea - except maybe someone believes not in free will. The bible is not god.

You can hear for example often the quote form the bible "Who is not with us is against us". If you try to find the context on your own then you will see that this is maybe - maybe not - not so wrong. But in another context Jesus said something else - it's your decision what to believe:

“Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”
“Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. The Flood and Noahs Ark are not literally feasible for a number of reasons, as noted in other recent discussions in this forum. Hodson cites it as not beyond "theurgic" power but leans more toward esoteric understandings.

The work of Hodson offers an intriguing and profound analysis of the flood metaphor which I wont try to summarize at this time but maybe could prepare as a follow-up. However, you would consider it just more woo-woo, albeit much more plausible than the Bibles.

Both Hodson and Graham see the flood as a dissolution/carry-over/ re-creation process wherein the third plane gives way to the fourth, the latter being the source of the remaining three planes, the last being the seventh. Thus Noah was not a physical human but only an archetype, a stage of precreation. Graham notes that Noahs later drunkenness is recognized by the Vulgate as Demon est Deus Inversus, the same isomerism as Abram becoming Abraham, Jacob becoming Israel, etc.

However, whereas Grahams interpretation is strictly metaphysical and planetary, Hodsons includes a hierarchy of semi- and supernatural beings (transcendent humans, Adepts, Elohim [members of Logos], etc.) thus addressing microcosm and macrocosm, personal and planetary. It is somewhat more in line with the Hindu and Persian versions, which feature seeds of plants and seeds of animals instead of live animals.

Somehow the Tepanecans of Mexico also believed that the flood lasted forty days and forty nights.

Drunvalo Melchizedek puts the focus on Atlantis. Among the maybe dozen races there, one came as survivors from Mars, a once earth-like planet decimated by wars. They possessed no emotional capacity and became rulers after the locals persuaded them not to do anything about an incoming asteroid, which they considered an avoidable mistake. They built an artificial mercaba that misfired, wrecking Atlantis with a global impact, also damaging a space-time dimension, leading to the end of humans within about 10,000 years if left uncorrected. Thoth and two others built pyramids in several parts of the world and used them to generate the corrective energy that saved the world. The question that arises is why does Drunvalo say its a theory if the invisible Thoth talks to him, as when he was exploring the dark depths of the pyramid.

The Red Sea is actually the Reed Sea of bulrushes, so who knows what really happened there, if anything at all. There have been some attempts at geophysical explanations of a Red Sea crossing based on cataclysmic events; some include irregular movements of planetary bodies, foreign or otherwise.

Graham says the Red Sea represents the red earth. The Exodus could also be compared to the progression of consciousness.

Hodsons volume II compares the crossing to Kundalini, the opposite pair of polarities traveling up around the spine.

Ill be more dismissive of woo-woo upon the disappearance of government secrecy on UFOs, cattle mutilations, and kidnappings by Bigfoot in national parks.
