Here's an interesting analysis by those at NYT using data from CDC and other sources.

This analysis centers on counts of excess deaths. These are deaths that have had no certified cause. Every year there are some number of these excess deaths. But, this year that number is WAY higher than past years.

So, where did all these excess deaths come from?

By tracking these excess deaths, it is found that excess deaths go up during the period when a state has high death rate from COVID and when the COVID death rate in that state goes down, the number of excess deaths in that state goes down, too!!

This article includes a good number of charts showing what's been going on in various states and regions. It also includes various explanations for these excess deaths.

The COVID/science/mask deniers will stay they're all suicides from people
'suffering' the genociede-esque atrocities of /gasp not being able to sit in a restaurant or /gasp having to watch a sporting event at home instead of in person or any of the other, clearly, World War 3 level concessions we're being asked to endure /s.

    Amen.

Science based medicine told us what we needed to do. We even got a plan for reopening our economy many months ago - where it languished on whitehouse.gov due to executive branch refusal.

    Now, the deniers whine.

NYT is the most reliable propaganda outlet for official narratives that we have in this country, though the television media is more incessant and relentless, propaganda 24/7/365

The faith of true believers has them pretending that whistleblowers regarding the manipulation of statistical data don't exist.

I am seeing quite a bit of reporting that the death toll has been alarmingly over reported. A number of doctors are saying this. I actually thought that from when I learned that hospitals are incentivized monetarily for covid patients/covid deaths. Said it too. It is a good thing if not as many folks are dying from covid as previously believed, right??

It’s not really true. They get paid for the diagnosis, not the death. And it was Medicare treatment rates, not death rates. Those rates apply to them treating them only.

Hospitals are starting to turn away ambulances, due to lack of resources.

It's going to be really bad for the next few weeks, as we deal with the fallout from holiday carelessness.

We went out driving on Christmas day and were stunned by how many neighborhoods were turned into parking lots.

We had four people over on Christmas Eve. Two kids; two girlfriends.

    We stayed apart.

You don't seem to present this clearly. Do you believe the number of cases and deaths don't warrant the concerns we're seeing and actions like the development of vaccines?

Stories told confidentially by hospital workers including physicians and ambulance drivers in my small town corroborate what Bridget posted.

There absolutely is financial incentive for Covid coding on admissions, and there IS pressure on workers to do so.

Perhaps I don't present it clearly.

My point is that the number of cases and deaths have been manipulated in virtually every jurisdiction around the country. There are at least dozens of whistleblowers who at great personal expense have pointed that out for months. Censorship of such whistleblowers on social media and mainstream media is rampant, and that means something.

Presenting it very bluntly, what we've experienced during this last year is a scam of epic proportions. The plunder of the US Treasury by way of the CARES act supports that claim. The fact that the rich have become richer and the poor have become poorer also supports that claim.

Not really. They get treatment rates no matter what. I’m not sure the $$ difference between treatment rates and “covid” rates, but would be interesting to find out. And remember, that the difference is ONLY for patients with Medicare, all others are at their private rates. So the i don't think that would increase the overall Covid rates that much

The point is that there is pressure to classify everything as Covid. It's old news. Surprisingly a MSM station in Orlando did due diligence and discovered many cases of death misclassified, including the most egregious case, that of a person killed in a motorcycle accident classified as a covid death. The hospital walked that one and quite a few others back. "We screwed up" was the answer when called out.

    It's old news.

The reported death toll from the China virus is directly proportional to the sudden unexplained reduction in deaths from car crashes, heart attacks, falling off ladders, swimming pool accidents, stage 4 cancer, and dog bites.

Do you think weary and stressed-out medical staff, overflowing ICUs, and refrigerator trucks are part of the "scam"?

Oh, so then nothing has changed. The death rate hasn't changed at all, right? Can you explain overflowing ICUs and refrigerator trucks to hold the dead?

And it clearly states in the article that both cases were done properly. The Car Crash victim DID die form Covid, and the motorcycle victim was not listed as a covid death? The motorcycle victim tested positive, and they clearly state in the report that his cause of death was NOT Covid. As the article stated, thats how the system worked, and in this case worked as designed.

My state peaked in excess deaths in the spring when less was known about how to treat the virus and too many people were probably being thrown on ventilators. That said, "excess deaths" is really meaningless to me. They had the virus or they didn't and the virus led to their death or it didn't. To me "excess deaths" is like blaming the US for a bunch of deaths in Iraq that had nothing to do with US troops. They were just people who died from other things while we were there.
