Though I than He - may longer live
    He longer must - than I -
For I have but the power to kill,
Without - the power to die -

Not sure about that. A lot of that hoplophilia couldn't be posted on here. It would upset the apple cart

Certainly the case in this article: "A gun is a commodity of self-defense, and as the material necessities of the people become too expensive with the meager wages provided, violence and desperation will trend up. The need to defend oneself occurs in a society stricken by inequalities, racism, bigotry and bloody competition between workers and capitalists, and capitalists against other capitalists. Only when a tragedy occurs does the social character of firearms change through a social relation between humans"

    I agree, in most points,
We see in the history of France, when the gap between social classes became so great and basic needs were to the point peasants ate garbage and lapped up spilt Wine as it ran in the streets after a Wine barrel split.

However, the character of Arms never changes as a force for good, and yet Evil rises up not from Arms, but from intent, a Man is not Evil because he is Armed, like Cain he was jealous from the start, Cain killed Abel with a rock.

One day, guns will be replaced by some new technology, a phaser or particle weapon or some such thing.

Must be working great, what with the spectacularly high prison population and death rates.

Crime and Criminal activity is not unique to America or even American in nature or cultural in any way.

You seek to blame guns for all ills and people here get that.

You are not concerned with anything past the issue of banning guns.

Still trying to reinvent my position? I have not referred to banning guns. I haven't even referred to banning extreme hoplophilia. Each to their own, I say!

Brits and Auzzies criticize the USA as uncivilized simply because we enjoy having guns and we also largely have capital punishment. They have progressed too far down the road of effeminism and emasculation to understand us.

But if it were not for the USA the Auzzies would be speaking Japanese and the Brits would be speaking German by now.

Actually we have the American Indians to thank for our guns and our 2A.

It would have been infeasible to try to colonize North America without flintlocks.

The only way you can stop a bad American Indian with a bow and arrow and tomahawk is with a good guy with a flintlock.

My Remington 300 RUM is accurate to 750 yards that I know of.

My Ruger Mini 14 with its Redfield Battlezone scope is accurate to 500 yards.

My Mossberg 12 gauge riot slug shotgun is accurate to 75 yards.

My CZ 97B 45ACP is accurate to 25 yards.

A 100 yd range would only be useful to me for the CZ and the Mossberg.

I really need more practice shooting long range, especially with a crosswind.
