Judging from how much interest they wanted to earn on the loans to finance the war...... it is looking to me like the USA banking class of a century and a half ago don't seem to have been very patriotic?

Could it have been because they had traveled to Europe and perhaps liked some nations of Europe better in some ways than life in the USA????
