So I guess we are in agreement that people claiming AGW is "settled science " are full of ****.

Of course science knows about the LIA which is why I'm skeptical of scientist pushing AGW that use that era of cooling in their charts and graphs to make it appear current warming is an abnormality. Throw those couple hundred of years out and start charts and graphs from there and an entirely different picture emerges.

Where did you get THAT idea?

The vast majority of scientists studyig climatology agree that human contribution is the significant factor in Earth's current warming trend.

And again, this isn't about me. Your disagreement is with science. I'm just a poster here.

Isn't that exactly opposite of what you are cliaming?

So first you say science is designed to be self correcting then you say AGW is settled science. You're all over the board here.
AGW is an unproven hypothesis which is a far cry from a scientific law which is as close to settled science as we can get.

We are well above the Medeival warm period - the human era high before the LIA.

And, we're getting warmer faster than at any other time.

Obviously, scientists are well aware of these temperatures.

And, let's remember that the impact on human populations comes from that change. Change impacts food production and motivates people movement.

You're still just working hard to try to deny science.

As I stated throw out the LIA and start charts and graphs at that point and an entirely different picture emerges. It's dishonest to include that era and even use it for a baseline which AGW scientists do consistently which makes me skeptical of their motives and their science .

    I don't agree.

Please cite such a curve as you propose.

You can't see that using the LIA as a baseline climate is dishonest?
If you answer no then I guess we are done here.

Please cite what I asked for, because I believe you are just plain wrong about that.

As I pointed out, we've gone way over the Medieval Maxima that came before the LIA and Earth is warming at a higher rate than anytime during that period.

    So, CITE something.

If your mind can't grasp that a chart or graph that starts at the end of the Medieval warm period and extends to today leaving out the LIA would look far different than a chart or graph starting in the depths of the LIA as most of them do I'm wasting my time with you.
If on the other hand you do indeed fully grasp it as I suspect you do and are resorting to this tactic because you know I'm right about this and it pokes a big hole in all the AGW charts and graphs you are also wasting my time and we are done here.
Either way we are apparently done so have a nice day.:)

    NO. We are NOT done.

You suggested some chart would look different if different start dates were used.

I want to see your chart.

I want to see you cite something that supports what you have said.

Seriously, I do want to see that, as if such exists it would b interesting to understand. But, I can not find anything like that.

Well, in my childhood the snow often was knee deep. Now it rarely reaches above my boots. ;-)

I compare it to telling somebody to go inside a house and tell them the temperature. And they take the reading inside of the refrigerator.

Yes, it is accurate because that is indeed a temperature inside of the house, but it is not consistent with the actual temperature.

The LIA was a aberration in global temperatures, and should absolutely never be used as a baseline.

And of course you also have to ignore that scientists really do not know the temperatures prior to around 1800. It is called "Climate Proxy" because they really do not know, they are making guesses and estimating based upon things like plant rings, plant records, and things like that. Yea, those give you ideas but they are only guesstimates and not actual hard science.

But funny, point things like that out and people call you "anti-science". And I find it interesting that for 20 years now the IPCC has been trying to make people ignore the MWP and LIA, claiming they were "aberrations and not accurate depictions of our past climates".

Huh? The climate of the planet has always changed, and often radically. From millions of years with no ice caps at all, to a planet almost completely covered by ice. If anything is true, that is that our climate has always changed, and will always change. And they can not explain what started or stopped the MWP or LIA, but we had better damned well accept that they know what is causing it this time!

The interesting thing is, mostly I reject the Climate Scare Machine because of their almost total lack of actual objectivity and almost violent reaction against anybody that questions them. They are as bad or worse than religious fanatics, but fail to realize it. And many of the originators in the prior theories of "man made ecological disasters" pulled away from that decades ago.

Heck, I remember sometimes not even going to school because of snow. And now, I have not seen snow in a decade.

Of course, then I lived in Idaho, and now I live in California.

On 7th Feb 2020 the temperature in Antarctica was the same temperature as in Los Angeles

    Wrong.

The temperature of South Georgia was, at the height of their summer. Meanwhile LA was in the middle of their winter.

How about we flip them? Tell me what the temperature is in LA in August, then the temperature on South Georgia Island. Oh wait, I can tell you that now. South Georgia, 15f. Los Angeles, 85f.

How about summer and summer, winter and winter? South Georgia, 15f in winter, 40 in summer. Los Angeles, 40 in winter, 85 in summer.

To put it in perspective, that is about as amazing as it being 34 degrees in Newfoundland in July. Both are at 54 degrees latitude, just one North and one South.

In the summer it is common for the coastal regions to rise even into the 40s in Antarctica, and for the ice to melt away. But confusing the coastal region with the entire continent is cherry picking of the worst kind.

LOL I clearly hit a sore point. What was wrong in my statement?

Oh and it wasn't South Geogia, it was Esperanza Base (Spanish: Base Esperanza, 'Hope Base') is a permanent, all-year-round Argentine research station in Hope Bay, Trinity Peninsula (in Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula).

OK, which is roughly equivalent to the latitude of Anchorage, and even further from the pole than Nome is. And you are still taking a temperature reading in one at the height of summer, and the other in the height of winter.

It is not a comparable statement, because of the opposition of seasons. You literally are trying to compare summer and winter temperatures, in locations at vastly different latitudes.

And I am not sore, I am actually laughing. That you seem to find this somehow of any importance at all is hilarious.

Let's say that next time, we take the temperature inside of the oven while baking a cake, then take another temperature inside the freezer. We then use these to discuss the temperature inside the kitchen. It would be as relevant as your statement was.

Still waiting for you to point out where the statement "On 7th Feb 2020 the temperature in Antarctica was the same temperature as in Los Angeles" is wrong?

It is completely irrelevant because they were in radically different seasons and latitudes.

Sorry that you get butt hurt when people call you out for your cherry picking of facts.

Sure....as long as one goes from an ac home to an ac car to an ac office and back.....along with living in a state of denial, any incorrect observation is likely. Poverty poor healthcare world wide with world wide food affected droughts has lead to more animal human contact and more likely epidemics. So being forced inside hasn’t affected anyone in the last 20 years ? Amazing.

Not in the US. No statistical change for over two decades.
