Until the President comes out unambiguously in favor of mask usage and proper social distancing...there will be a significant portion of the country that will not do the right thing.

The Fauci that was against masks before he was for masks? The Fauci that let the pandemic explode uncontrolled across the country while he “saved” masks for healthcare professionals? The Fauci that finally gave in to pressure from other medical professionals and recommended masks in April? The Fauci that watched South Korea deal sensibly with mask shortages for six weeks prior to recommending them here but couldn’t implement anything similar or even advocate for it?

The Fauci that is the “expert” but took months to figure out cloth masks that could be made at home were better than nothing?

The Fauci photographed with his mask under his chin where he knew he was on national television, and when called out for it makes lame excuses about drinking water and it not mattering because the guy sitting next to him is a close friend? LOL.

The Fauci that finally admits aerosol spread is significant and that aerosols travel well over 6 feet but in the same presentation states distancing of 6 feet is good enough?

I'ma go out on a limb here and say I'm prolly not the only Trump supporter that isn't looking for an example to follow. Why do you think we'd start doing something just because Trump does it? Has there been a massive rise in suit wearing, limo riding, mcdonalds eating or porn star banging since 2016?

Good point. I don’t support many politicians anymore. Even the handful I can support to some degree have no influence on me based on their example. What a sad state of affairs in a country with a government of, by, and for the people, most of those people want kings or celebrities to dictate their actions.

Masks don’t protect people from Covid and they don’t prevent the spread of Covid. Aerosol particles which are ~ 1 micron in diameter from normal breathing go right through them. Surgeons with viral infections do not operate. The only benefit of masks are for those infected with a persistent cough. That produces droplets 100X the size of aerosols which surgical masks attenuate. Know the science and follow the science.

Dr. Fauci knows all this but is just playing politics.

At this point we all KNOW that this virus can be spread for DAYS before symptoms show up. And every sneeze, cough, every time you yell or sing or even pronounce consonants...spews that virus without a mask

There is no scientific evidence that masks work on aerosols. The CDC itself states that masks don't protect anyone from Covid and that the only benefit is to stop the spread from infected persons with coughs or other activities that spread ~ 100 micron droplets in confined spaces indoors.

This virus came from China and there is evidence that it was actually human engineered and escaped from the Wuhan laboratory. China quarantined its own people but allowed the virus to spread globally. The pandemic is winding down in the US based on daily hospitalization and daily fatality data. Daily positive US tests are trending up because of more testing that is catching healthy people in infected with no or very mild symptoms. This is should be our covid policy:
