You have not demonstrated there no competition and while not publishing prices is bad for competition it doesn't mean there isn't. And you have no evidence that their reasons for not publishing their prices has anything to do with government mandates or that there is anything soviet about it. If anything it is an example of the free market gone wrong and lacking enough competition. The fix is to mandate equal, simple, and explicit pricing by all healthcare entities like all other industries have.

What you fail to understand is that a free market doesn't mean good competition it just means that the market is private but a free market can be monopolistic. Government regulations should restrain that behavior in the market.
