We can mitigate the risk of rape but we cannot eliminate the incidents of rape.

How about we observe the rape stops with the victim, as, the act will be carried through by the aggressor? this would mean it is up to the 'woman' to stop the act, of course. this would mean that we need to find a way for the victim to stop the ordeal. besides taking the risk of using violence, which could see her killed, or the weakness of crying for help, which might not be there, and the hope of mace, which might miss or go awry, there must be 'a better way' to stop rape.

If we were to observe that rape comes from weakness, or, supposed weakness, and, that the man will be pressured into saying he has had sex while he has not, it is obviously a social structure that promotes rape. then there is the need of fantasy of sex with men that promotes this too. so, if there was no pressure on men to have sex, nor a fantasy where they have informal sex, there would be a way forwards, yes?

Failing to find a way out of these impossible to get out of structures, we need to empower women to stop the act themselves. this could be done by biting the man on his face, yes? going down on a man, saying "okay, you win!" to him, and then biting him you know where, will definitely stop and save the situation. if there is no dialogue, the man only has two hands, one to hold both the arms of the woman, and one to tear off her clothes. this leaves the hand that is supposed to cover the mouth occupied for a short while, which the woman could use to bit him on the nose or elsewhere.

The way to see this realized is for the woman to prepare for the situation. by chewing gum, the mouth would stay active, and, the whole time, the woman will be conscious of chewing gum, and, think to herself "why is she chewing gum?" this would see her stay actively aware, maybe avoiding the rape altogether, and giving her a window of opportunity to bite before the man can 'secure her.'

If the rapist was to leave her arms and instead go for the mouth of the woman, silencing her, the fear of not being able to call for help would be on the tip of her mind, yes? this would leave a free hand though, that needs to be ready too if she is to use it. this could be made possible by having some 'dough' or 'putty' in each hand, to keep her hands alert with the same logic we used for the gum. in the end, she will be ready to strike out at anyone, giving her a natural reaction to the whole start of the ordeal.

This is a lot better than a shotgun wielding woman that gets taken by surprise, of course.

    OP

A sharp upward movement of the female knee into the male groin can be a good deterrent.

The Penal code of New York State allows the use of Lethal force to terminate a Rape.

Rape is a crime of Violence, it has nothing to do with sex in the true sense.
Men rape old women past any attraction and also rape children that also lack attraction, it is about power & control.

I used to teach a nifty defense tactic against rapists, the victim acts as if surrendering to the rapist, offering oral sex, then, in the rapists moment of arrousal, uses a fillet knife to slice off all the rapists junk.......
No more Genetalia, no more rape.
    Simple solution.

You're missing a crucial point here. Once a rapist has his victim...she's already in a world of trouble. You're worried that whatever countermeasures the victim can use could lead to her getting injured or killed. Well guess what? That's already happening before the rapist fishes out his wedding tackle. The victim has likely been slapped, punched, pistol whipped...any number of methods to subdue his victim before he even gets down to doing the deed.

So if she's already being attacked with physical violence, she might as well dish it out right back.

If that were the case, then high schools would be teeming with rapists. The problem is that rape isn't about sex. If it was all about sex...anyone could go and see a prostitute. Hell there are apps out there where you can meet up with someone for the sole purpose of bumping uglies with another person. Rapists tend to be people who despise women for one reason or another and this is their way of punishing them.

There are four types of serial rapists. You have the power reassurance rapist (the least violent), the anger retaliation rapist (motivated by a desire to hurt women), the power assertive rapist (expressing virility and personal dominance), and the sadistic rapist (intent on inflicting psychological and physical pain).

These are part of the self-defense measures that you seemed to be against earlier in your post. You can't have it both ways. If you want a woman to strike back...then she needs to strike back. And that includes more than your areas of attack. She is in fear of her life and she has the right to preserve her life by any means. Biting, scratching, eye gouging, kicking, chemical deterrents, the four "Ns" (nose, neck, knees, naughty bits), carefully gripped keys, knives, guns, tazers...whatever. And if the assailant dies in the counter attack? So be it.

I rather doubt that the average rapist is thinking "Ooh! There's a naughty bit of crumpet! Oh no. Wait...she's chewing gum. Might as well wait for the next one." And I don't know about you, but when I'm chewing gum...I'm not thinking about it while I'm doing it. It becomes a background behavior that we largely ignore.

A better thing for a woman to hold in her hands is going to be her keys.

That's going to do far more good than having a wad of putty in their hands. What do you expect a woman is going to be able to do with a glob of silly putty in her hands?

A woman can do much better with a small gun in her hands.
Either a Revolver or small-ish semiautomatic pistol.

Wholeheartedly agree. However it's not as easy as all that to get the concealed permit needed to effectively carry one.

A concealed gun is of no use if the rapist is already attacking her.

Carrying her keys in her hand is perfectly normal and acceptable and it is a weapon that she just needs to learn how to use effectively at close quarters. Stabbing at the groin or face, especially the eyes, will give her the opportunity to escape.

Not to mention it's more acceptable legally. Guns, Tazers, CS Irritants and other weapons could fall within legality issues. Keys as an "on the spot, improvised weapon" is easier to defend in court.

    And properly used...damned effective.

Yup! Punch and twist or slash and twist will cause maximum pain in the appropriate target areas.

Unlikely to cause a lethal injury to the rapist but more than enough to make them back off.

In a court the jury won't have a problem with a woman defending herself with what she had available.

I know how to avoid rape and is by legalising weapons for self-defense, much tougher legislation with stricter punishments and by individual cautiousness.

With relaxed weapon laws, women get the right to defend their own bodies. If they get attacked they can easily stab the rapist, shot him in the crotch or pepper-spray his eyes. With more relaxed weapon laws, malevolent people will be more rdluctant to attack people as the risk of getting your **** shot is very possible.

Harder punishments will dnsure disgusting people get the punishment they deserve. For rspe, a very reasonable punishment is castration along with some years in the cell. This way the risk for relapse is 0.

Individual cautiousness is always important - try not to walk through dark allies and make sure you know some people at the party you are attending. Never sleep at a stranger's house etc etc.

Here in America, getting a concealed carry license or permit is a relatively easy process in most States, some States are a bit more difficult, and some areas such as NYC and Los Angeles, almost impossible.

I am a certified firearms Instructor, and can tell you that women armed with guns have a very high rate of success, when defending themselves from rapists.

By learning proper firearms tactics and training a woman can avoid rape and injury.

With the many terrible sexually transmitted diseases with which a rapist can infect a victim, such as HIV / AIDS , a victim will have no problem justifying shooting a rapist.

Finally knowing the Law is part of a Defense stratedgy, NYS penal code allows the use of Lethal force to deter a rape.

Everyone needs to know and understand the penal code of their State of residence.

And by the way, many here are stating their opinion on what the law allows as a victims response to an attacker / rapist, American law varies from State to State, you have to consult your States penal code in order to understand your States legal position as far as rape.
NYS allows lethal force in response to attempted rape.
Consult a Criminal Attourney or ADA for specific legal advice on matters such as these.
