So house fires in Australia don't happen from grease or electrical problems?

Sure. I'm the ignorant one for not having a fire extinguisher.

    It does explain this though.

Consider this response when you post about US gun laws and culture.

    I have a similar account;
I was driving on an off ramp and saw a small brush fire just starting out, it was the south end of a vacant lot an unlimited dead trees leading up to a row of Town houses, I had a large fire extinguisher mounted inside the truck, I grabbed it an knocked down the fire in it's infancy.
FDNY showed up, they knew me and ribbed me about it.

The FDNY Captain replaced my empty extinguisher, a full one for my empty one, that was very close to the end of it's test life anyway......

    Two things.

One I try to refrain from commenting on american gun culture, noting several times that due to the different culture people have guns.

Two, I believe I have spent more time in america and in that culture then what vman has in australia, evidenced by him thinking we all had fire extinguishers in our houses.

How many private residences did you personally enter during your time in the united states?

Because the "possibility" only exists with compliance and can only disarm good people.

There are approximately three hundred and eleven millions living in the united states currently. How many private residences constitute "enough" to be making what is considered as an informed opinion?

I never stated that my opinion was informed nor that I had visited a statistically relevant proportion of the 311 million people living in america.

I said, from what I have inferred from Vmans posts, that I believe I have spent more time in america then what he has in australia.

Yes, I have spent time in my house in america.

Because I have a house in america, because I am american.

Honestly, are you ok in the mind?

Is it possible for anyone to truly claim such in this day and age?

After a few fires my sister started in our youth, I really loved fire extinguishers.
I do not see a down side to them.
A fire extiguisher only has peaceful use, it is not a weapon, how could anyone object to one ?
A fire alarm does not extiguish a fire !

    You are a unique individual.

But really given the discourse in this thread and the amount tog has followed me around he really should know that I am not american without drawing on any great powers of comprehension.

All it takes is one grease fire in the kitchen to convince of the need for a fire extinguisher.

And that one needs to take care of the kind of extinguisher he chooses.

I learned a little bit about fire extinguishers in fire safety classes and fire rescue.

On the contrary - you are more than happy to spout passive-aggressive commentary on that very thing.
And so, when ever I see such a comment, I will be sure to remind you that until you live in our gun culture, you just sound ignorant.

You seem to have no idea what correlation means. Correlation does not eliminate the possibility of other confounding variables.
