In fact, the U.S. Department of Interior announced in 2017 that firearms and ammunition manufacturers contributed a record $780 million in excise taxes in 2016 through the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Program.
There are also charities like "hunters for the hungry" which feed the homeless. The butcher I work with took trips down to the coast of Texas after the Hurricane, 3 trips of 500 lbs of pulled pork. That fed a lot of people in a time of crisis.
