    That stems from the FACT:

That when examining the only 5 times that the popular vote winner lost the Electoral College, in each instance it was the Democratic Candidate that lost.

So, of course, anybody who doesn't like Dems is going to love the EC.

Ahhha yes he was factually correct, there has NEVER been a national vote nor national election in the United States. The President is not elected by the People but by the States. And in fact the State does not even have to hold an election for its electors the state legislature can select them or allow the governor to select them or in any manner of its choosing.

We don't hold popular votes for the President and Vice-President.

The Constitution guarantees to the States we will never be a "Real Democracy", in fact it never would have been ratified had it not.

It is an Electoral College election for the States to cast their votes. How the States choose their electors is unique them each State and has nothing to do with any other State.

Why should people be punished for being successful?

    What do you mean "sums?"

What is wrong with people like Bill Gates?

What makes you think that they don't seek satisfaction from their family at the moment?

Why does it matter how long it takes before billionaires are produced?

How does it come from Jack & Jill Americans?

    What is wrong with inheritance?

There has never been an American elected president by popular vote. Never.
Go back and watch coverage of the 2016 election. What you saw were state totals and the magic E.C. number.
There are 50 state presidential elections.
There just isn't a presidential contest where the winner is chosen by popular vote which is why the popular total wasn't being flashed all night long. What was being flashed all night long? The E.C. vote. You've taken butt hurt to a new level. After 2 years your still in tears. Hillary won the nomination due to super delegates. She had it won before the first ballot was cast. The Dem party has it's own E.C.The whole Dem primary was a joke. And they admit it was designed that way to keep grass roots candidates like Bernie out. They can't trust the people to do the right thing, the DNC will choose the candidate.

    Piffle 'n drivel.

We've had 45 of them. They have ALL demonstrated the popular-vote.

Five times, however, the popular-vote was patently manipulated by the Electoral College to deliver as winner the loser of the popular-vote.

The popular vote is the only true and valid vote for any public office in a Real Democracy.

    Period ...

    Uh, taxes.

Just like we do for the DoD that gobbles half the Discretionary Budget of the US today.

Nobody asked Uncle Sam to police the world, so why is he wasting tax-dollars by doing it? Because it's always been that way?

    Which is kinda-sorta a stoopid reason ... !

Why should the very poor be punished for not being successful?

What your question demonstrates is typical of American where "success as measured by money" is the ultimate reason for our existence.

But it aint. The reason for our existence is that we are born. After which individuals decide very largely what to do with their lives.

And it behooves a government to provide not just security of the person, but also the means to earn a decent and healthy living. Both of which are accomplished by primarily by providing very lo-cost National Health Care and nearly free postsecondary education.

A good many countries provide such basic services at very low-costs. And so?

Well, for instance, Europe (which has National Health Care) has an average human lifespan that is four-years longer than the US?

Is that enough of a justification for you? It is for me ... !

Don't you realise that you already responded to my above post? By the way, I agree with you on the reduction of DoD spending.

Ahhhhh no that would require a constitutional amendment to which the States will never agree. And no they are not synonymous and the constitution guaranties to the States we are.not a democracy.

You aren't a citizenof the US are you.

The Great Compromise. Children study it in their history and civics classes. You aren't a citizen of the USA?

That's why we have governments to make the market-economy decently free of extreme Income Disparity.

Of which the US is amongst the worse. The common measure of ID is called the Gini Coefficient:

If one seeks Income Fairness in North America, they should go to Canada ...

If one seeks income fairness, on should be prepared to have a lower standard of living. Income inequality occurs because some people are better at earning money than other people. Without those people, the overall standard of living will suffer. Give up your envy of those who earn more than you do and spend the concern on yourself.

    Simplistic nonsense.

The constitution wasn't made to vote for an Executive without warping the popular-vote. Which is why we have a Donald Dork - who LOST the popular-vote - as PotUS. Simply because of this "mechanism" that allows states to report an election-outcome that favors the loser of the popular vote?

Anyone who doesn't understand that critical anomaly of Our Voting System needs to have their head examined ...

The Electoral College was designed so that urban dwellers could not dominate everyone else. You clearly know nothing about this if you are harping about pure democracy, that was never the intent...
