read your Bible - you do not "purchase" one as it has been freely granted according to that's book's teachings funny how so many right wingers call themselves Christian but they know nothing of their own Bible - if they would just bother to read their own book this would be a far more peaceful world
The question was presented because the scripture contained within states that he who is without a sword should sell his coat to buy one. This suggests a physical transaction is to be committed. If it does not mean what it says, if a person was not commanded to sell their clothing in order to purchase a physical sword, then what exactly was being said?
So; according to you, we should not have Police, just let Criminals run wild ? Let Rapists run free ? Serial Killers ? Home Invaders ? Armed Robbers ? What if the Police cannot get to you in time ? Your twisting of Scripture is what the Devil has always done since he beguiled Eve. Romans 12:18 18. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.
This has always been the point that the grabbers never understand. It's been how long since Waco? Those folks were a bit strange, yet nobody forgets what a murderous federal government looks like. That is the avenue of confiscation that grabbers never see or understand. How many Wacos can any one administration survive? That's exactly what would happen if confiscation became a serious threat. Who exactly is going to confiscate private firearms? The very people who grabbers expect to do the job are the most likely to support private ownership in the first place.
All this is occuring in Africa, a Continent that still is in constant strife, War, Political instability and turmoil. How is Africa going to influence a Gun Ban In America ????
You're talking about a whole separate book with a whole separate context. It was clear in Ephesians that the armor of God was spiritual. The passage I quoted doesn't fit an allegorical reading. He first asked them if they lacked physical needs when he sent them out to preach. He then tell them to get a purse, script and sword. If the sword was spiritual then what were the purse and script? Not only that but at the time when he said that, to buy a Torah scroll would require a whole lot more than selling your garment and as any Christian will tell you, God does not command us to do what we physically can't do.
They can take away the possibility of your ever owning guns, even though you don't want to own guns. It's a form of oppression.
Hmmm... the firearms classes I teach are gettin pretty close to parity in gender. Most of the gun shops in my area now carry products designed for women. Both my girls and my fiancée carry. The trend in states, with only a couple notable and predictable exceptions, is moving toward expanding rights...not sure I would count on women to rescue the gun banning cause.
