I don't know if anybody has told these so called union officials but Howard lost the election and is no longer in government.

Protesting is fine but harassing people for the sake of it is wrong. And they wonder why people want to bring in laws and regulations to stop the thuggish behaviour.

Howard is an antagoniser and just taking advantage of the situation by walking that way. He knew what he was doing. He ain't no innocent Johhny, he is a snake in the grass.

Howard was destoying the country through his wreckless spending and attempts to corral financial systems for his big mates. People will never forget what his attempts were while in government. He was the master of smoke and mirrors.

He is still fair game as long as it's not physical.

He wasn't punched out. Yes they were noisy but so what? There's a reason why it was the CFMEU. The construction business is a tough gig for a worker, they're used to employers trying to shaft them and Howard used the biggest shaft of them all in WorkChoices.

I must say D, this is the first time I have seen you as completely biased to one side.;)

Howard knew what he was doing. However the CFMEU is as corrupt an entity as there ever was. The poor old grass roots workers were damned if they did and damned if they didn't, when given the choice between Workchoices and the extortion rate that the CFMEU extracts from them. The union itself is as corporatized as any big business and just as unscrupulous.

    Howard - sh!tstirrer. YES
CFMEU - Thugs and Crooks. YES.

Sorry, it is a non-issue??? Tell me, isn’t union thuggery and corruption an issue??? Just because you don’t like the person who was involved does not detract from the incident. Seems strange that people turn a blind eye to thuggery and standover tactics when it suites them but as soon as the shoe is on the other foot woe behold anybody who even hints at such disgusting actions.
I note the Trolls sitting at their keyboard excusing such activity has previously complained from far less.
This thread just goes to show the extent of criminal activity that certain people will excuse just to follow their political persuasion. I previously have pointed out the failure of Shorten to condemn the criminal activity, the violence and standover activity of the unions and clearly here even after their champion has himself condemned the action, people trying to justifying their actions because of who was involved, nothing more.
By the way, didn't you note the comments??? We have hyper reactions like the Americans here. What is Howard to anybody now??? is he in government is he in any way affecting your life and the lives of the trolls??? No, so why the blind hatred??? I don't like Rudd, but since he is no longer in government I do not need to consider anything of him.
Typical hypocrisy of the ALP drones. So while criminal and corrupt activity in your eyes are non-issues, some people do believe it is more demonstration of how these organisations need to be disbanded because they represent their own interests and not the interest of their members.

Really, "he was not punched out" is YOUR level of where you think maybe you should stand against such actions??? just how far would these people have gone if the police were not there???
I really do wonder about people who live stuck in the past with blinkers on. Howard shafted the workers with workchoices??? So tell me, WHY didn't the ALP repeal them??? why did the ALP simply rebadge many WH@S legislation directly related to workchoices as their own??? Perhaps you could also tell us why you don't complain about that???
Put simply if you want to complain and live in 2007, then trying to suggest the ALP is anything progressive or anything alike is simply your lie...
No simple to say your attempt at justifying your hatred is not working, since you protect this union thuggery simply because you don’t like who was involved, then really, how can anybody expect credibility of such bias…

Hypotheticals are irrelevant. And there was no thuggery, just a lot of shouting. How much of Howard's WorkChoices got into legislation and how much remained after the FWA? You know the ALP is not going to govern for the unions, it knows that industrial relations legislation has to be fair to all sides, Howard went too far with his hubris and thought he could get away with it but the voters weren't having it. Neither side should get all it wants in IR legislation, it would be unworkable.

Howard wanted to be accosted. Bottom line. Howard was and still is a turd! Just a lying, thieving, divisive, wasteful mongrel who pretends innocence!

No thuggery??? One wonders just what you call thuggery.

Simple to say, clearly this demonstrates that ALP supporters have hollow rhetoric when it comes to social issues. Excuse bad behaviour due to dislike of victim for whatever reason.

This one issue, regardless of excuse demonstrates the credibility of others in many ways. Many of us condemn domestic violence, not Shorten and his supporters. How can anybody believe them when they excuse such intimidator behaviour due to nothing more than their own dislike. “She deserved it for not doing…” typical excuse of the feeble minded after domestic violence, clearly exactly the sentiment here. Obviously, certain people consider this type of excuse OK to justify their hatred of others. And we wonder why such issues are so hard to deter, apparently most don't wish to.

I had always thought most Australians are decent enough to remain consistent with their beliefs of condemning racism, violence, criminal behaviour and intimidator behaviour. Here we see six people who excuse what is technically assault ( I believe you supposed to be an ex-police officer so you would be well aware of this) due to only one thing, their feelings to the victim and only two people who are addressing the issue on the merits of the issue itself.

Clearly, Australia has become more Americanised than they care to admit. The clear demonstration of the misogynistic, racist, war mongering people from the last election, Australia seems to be far more guarded pretending to be something they are not. Considering two thirds excuse such behaviour due only to their consideration of who the victim is… Just bewildering…
