If Don had been at the Alamo he would have issued WMD's to Travis, Boone and Crocket. Santa Ana would have been a no show in1848.

The Alamo took the fight out of them.

They only lasted 18 minutes in the next battle.

Sam Houston's forces apparently caught Santa Anna in the sack with "The Yellow Rose of Texas".
The "Napoleon of South America" was distracted and fighting the wrong battle. ;-)

Emily West Morgan, a spy for Texas, convinced a captured servant "Turner" to escape and tell Houston where Santa Anna was camped, and then kept the general distracted until Houston launched the attack and captured him literally without his pants. Here is another good source:

“Emily of Morgan's Point refers to an indentured servant, somewhat forgotten in history for her heroism during the Texas war of independence from Mexico. Some contend the legend is a myth - not a part of history. [Abernathy] The historical evidence, however, indicates otherwise.” http://www.tamu.edu/faculty/ccbn/dewitt/adp/archives/yellowrose/yelrose.html

I'm not interesting in former Texas war. It's very stupid with old time wars. But I've wrong ?!

History is always interesting. Spies are interesting. Female spies are especially interesting. Dynamic Texas hybrid Femme Fatale spies are not only interesting - they are mesmerizing - as Santa Anna discovered. ;-)

I appreciate the effort. Not sure, even though I'm a Texan, that I knew all of that. So much is forgotten over time.

I researched it when the miniseries about the creation of the Texas Republic was aired last year. That kind of history is often forgotten quickly and dug up much later. For instance, much of the detailed record of the Plymouth colony was not well preserved and lost.

Indeed. The way history is reinvented or omitted these days, expect that sort of thing to happen more often.

Your first 10 posts are moderated. Most of the time, your moderated posts will be approved within 24 hours, but usually less time than that. Welcome to PF, BTW.
