Partnership with China is a sensible move from Kremlin and a nightmare for the whole western project. The threat from China to Siberia doesn't exist. China hasn't populated its own northern territory and gets no problems buying siberian resources. The threat from China is yet another propaganda. If you look for an example of the notion 'allies' among the present states I would picture it with China and Russia.
