What do you mean by hostile takeover?

And I'm guessing just a small portion of people who view UFC events actually pay for them. Many bars and restaurants get the PPV events, and illegal live streams are all over the Internet...plus with torrents many people have the event downloaded within hours of it's end. I'm not saying to do anything illegal, but you get my point.

They paid them off so Paul could get KOed again my Martinez for some big money. Although I can't image anyone being interested in Williams getting the crap beat outta him again.

Big UFC event tonight. Two title fights, plus the winner of Stann vs Sonnen will probably get the next shot at Anderson Silva.

Frankie Edgar (champion) vs Gray Maynard for the UFC 155 lb title. I'm going with Gray via 5 round decision. Should be a close, competitive fight though.

Jose Aldo (champion) vs Kenny Florian - I'm taking Aldo here. I'm fairly confident Florian will give him a heck if a fight, but when Aldo is on he just looks too good. I'll take Aldo via decision.

Chael Sonnen vs Brian Stann - I think Sonnens wrestling will be too much for Stann. Sonnen via decision, with the fight looking similar to the Okami fight.

Indeed. I watched the run up last night including the replay of the draw. That was perhaps one of the closest fights I have ever seen. I can not make a guess on this one.

I have to go with my favorite on this one, Florian. The guy is lightening fast and has an incredible drive to win. I think Aldo has had a bit of a soft climb to champion and has not fought anyone as good as Florian so far. Just my $.02.

Sonnen hands down, although I do not know if it will go the distance.

Florian is a handful for anyone at 155, and especially dangerous now that he's at 145. If he can avoid Aldos leg kicks and take down Aldo a few times, he can take this fight, no doubt. I'd like to see Florian win, but I'm just nervous he'll get tagged with a few legs kicks early that will send this fight into Aldos territory and slow down Florian.

This is a heck of a card though! Will you be watching tonight, TFM?

Heck no! I am far to cheap to pay for it.

I was always a huge boxing fan, but I have to say that even at the ripe old age of 43 I am enjoying UFC more and more. Faster paced, more representative of an actual fight. I started to get into MMA years ago when Royce Gracie, skinny Royce Gracie was kicking everyone ass. I sit there a couple nights a week and watch the reruns.

A guy form my hometown, Marlon Simms, was on the Ultimate Fighter until he was asked to leave.

Anyway, Florian certainly has heart, and I am leery of the abilities of those like Aldo who were in the WEC. While he was great in that, I think the level of competition was much lower.
    Good stuff.

I remember that guy on the Ultimate Fighter.

Maynard was a senior at St Edwards when I was a sophomore in high school, and our schools crossed paths a few times during wrestling season, though he wrestled a few weight classes above me. Also wrestled CB Dollaways high school several times while he was there, but again, he was in a higher weight class. Maynard was a beast his senior year though, he ended up going undefeated and taking a state title.
