    The rain totals are the hardest part to imagine. 15 inches so far (from Corpus Christi to Houston) and up to 40 inches or more? Scary.

    I hate to sound like just an impartial observer (I will pray, too) and kind of a dunce, but does all that rain come down as fresh water or salt water, too?

    Never heard of salty rain. There is salt water spray forced by the wind but salty rain is not something that exists on this planet.

    Every part of this country has its own nature's perils. In Minnesota, long winters : (
    Earthquake regions, about the least desirable for me. Then hurricanes.

    According to this article the hurricane will affect more black people than white people. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...lacks-in-Texas-but-no-one-is-talking-about-it I wonder if they will be regarded as strangers so that they will get the needed assistance?

    Why would you wonder that? Your bias perhaps?

    If anyone of character (nearly all NATIVE Texans), is in a position to help anyone struck by this disaster, they will. This event is not an excuse for casting aspersions.

    I just beat all of the traffic leaving Houston this morning. They are in major prep mode and shutting down businesses so the employees can prepare. I'm safe in DFW now.
