To a point. He makes the claim that T****'s impeachment trial is a "Partisan farce" and like the first trial he's right.
Republican senators who are in the role of jurors have gone out of their way to toot the horn of the defendant prior to the trial. They tried to stop the trial from happening because it's moot, T**** is no longer in office and does not need to be removed but that is false because there are other penalties to be imposed, loss of pension, loss of a million dollars a year in office/travel expenses, Secret Service security and most important, the ability to put the nation through another T**** campaign.
Too many senators have made their declarations that they have absolutely no intention of performing their constitutional duty of hearing and weighing the evidence and judging accordingly. Instead they have chosen a partisan farce putting party and an individual above the nation and don't even have the decency to pretend to do their duty.

Paul makes perfect sense on most issues. I would vote for him. But I wish he had a personality and would comb his hair -- LOL

The handwriting was on the wall last time around when McConnell blocked witness testimony from the trial. Despite a handful of Repub senators admitting the House managers proved their case Crooked Donald was acquitted due to his cult-like sway with the base. This time around a signal the fix was in came when 45 Repubs hid behind the ruse that the 2nd impeachment is not constitutional. This, to spare them from considering Don's betrayal of his oath........due to his continued cult-like sway with the base.

It is removal AND not removal OR. The trial is a farce. The GOP isn't going to vote with the dems in nearly sufficient numbers to even approach a conviction just like there will be no democrats who don't vote to convict him except maybe Manchin.

The country does not benefit from this latest impeachment effort. It is spiteful and a complete waste of time, characteristic of Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, indeed, most of the Dem leadership.

The only farce is them members of the jury defending the defendant prior to the trial. They could at least pretend to do their duty.

Oh and if you believe removal from office is a requirement then only well regulated militias can have guns.

There is no difference between the members who defend him before the trial and those who have already deemed him guilty before the trial.

The politicians who now want to have a trial for Trump need to get a life. Talk about small people.

Those? After a search I found one and he said it before T**** was impeached. 45 Rep Sen don't believe there should even be a trial.

So you agree the 2nd amendment says that the right to own arms is guaranteed only to militia members? Because if your reading is that since he has been removed from office by the voters the other penalties do not apply then that's exactly what the 2nd amendment says.

No, it says that militias are necessary to the security of a free state and that the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

Rand Paul is one of two members of Congress (one is an ex-member) who tells the truth as he sees it, regardless of politics. He's right that it's a partisan farce. Where you're wrong is in assuming that the partisan farce is only on the part of the Republicans.

Take off your partisan glasses and just imagine if Trump had been a loyal Democrat ...

Here's a great recent clip. Rand Paul got full time when Amy Klobachur's technology failed her and she dropped.

    He crushes George Clintonopolous.

Rand Paul is one of my top 2 Republicans in The Senate.

And the articles of impeachment state that there are penalties independent of removal from office that may be applicable. Either commas count or they don't in determining meaning, it's a single document. To say a comma in the 2nd amendment allows for a separate application of well regulated militia from the right of individual to bear arms and to say a comma should not be read that way in the articles of impeachment is not possible. Either individuals have the right to bear arms and the penalties for impeachment can be determined at any time or the only people guaranteed the right to bear arms are members of well regulated militias. Take your pick.

Trump was impeached while still in office, the senators who say the impeachment trial is unconstitutional seem to ignore this fact, this is simply the guilt and penalty stage. Look at it this way. The statute of limitations says that a person must be charged with a crime within a certain time, the trial could be dragged out long after. If that weren't the case people who have had their convictions overturned could not be retried and others could drag their trials out long enough for the statute of limitations to expire and go free.

Ask one of those 44 senators why it's unconstitutional and they have no answer beyond "just because it isn't". They're simply trying to avoid being put into the position of saying T**** is guilty or having to answer questions as to how can that not be so?

You're confused. Embracing an ideology that has failed everywhere it's been tried has the odor of cult-like sway.

People who have embraced American values for decades and have been disappointed that politicians who share the same values haven't had the guts to stand up to those who hate the country would be expected to approve of a non-politician who both shares American values and has the guts to stand up to hater and censors. That's not cult-like sway. No one is following Trump like leftists follow Stalin, Mao, and Xi.

Correct. Stephanopoulos is a hack. He asked a question and wouldn't let go until Rand Paul gave him the answer he wanted to hear. If this were Mao's China where Stephanopoulos thinks he is, Rand would probably give the socialist what he wanted, fearing for his life. This isn't Mao's China or Nazi Germany or Mussolini's Italy. Millions of people watched the fraud ,,, didn't need Trump to tell them the facts that there was massive election fraud. It was there for everyone to see.

To invoke Barr was about as cynical as it gets. Barr came out of the same law firm that represented Dominion Voting Systems. His lobbying for the job of AG under Trump was no accident.

Socialism, communism, and dictators have failed all over the world -- but people who covet power will keep endorsing it in the guise of helping the oppressed people. It then only works for the leaders until the peasants get a belly full of the misery, seeing the opulence for the leaders, and storm the palace with pitch forks. Here in the USA we are at the stage where the leaders are promising utopia for the lower and middle class. Sadly the lower and middle class are falling for the slick line from the politicians. Some people will give up their freedom for a large screen TV, others for free health care, others for free housing and free food. History keeps repeating because the young generations don't know history.
