Yeah I'm on a ledge with that statement. Personally I think Bush Jr did more damage to America's reputation. Trump is a fool but Bush's invasion of Iraq and all its assorted quagmires (torture, renditions, Guantanamo) was about as damaging to the region and America's standing in the world as anything I've seen.

If Trump goes to war with Iran he'll take the top spot though.

Yup democrats get the pacific coast line.
Oregon Washington and California will be divided along the Pacific crest trail.
Republicans get eastern oregon washington and California, all of idaho, Montana wyoming, nevada Arizona, colorado to the edge of the front range then everything to the Mississippi.
The Democrats get the eastern seaboard from Boston to the Potomac. In as far as Philadelphia then there will be a little band running from new york to Chicago, ehh maybe Detroit..

Thats as close as i know to divide aling red and blue

Never understood why people get do touchy about famous people having opinions. Dixie Chicks, Roseann, George Clooney and so forth.

I think it's great that people have opinions and can say them. First amendment and all.

I, too, think that secession should be legalized, and it's a great pity that it wasn't legal in 1860 also....

It would be very beneficial if hyperliberal, radical Democrat-infested pestholes like California, New York, et al, would secede and take their hateful, nation-killing, "social-justice-warrior", Socialism-lite mental illnesses with them! Good riddance!

Yeah too bad Ben Shapiro has to risk being attacked to talk about his opinions on university campuses.

Oh wait he doesn't talk about his opinions much, he talks about facts.

I cannot disagree with much you say because I, too, see a lot more inflation coming -- quickly! And if you know me by now, you know that there's no low-life, rotten, belly-crawling thing in this world that the Federal Reserve cartel wouldn't do to Middle-Class America, in my not-so-humble opinion! And as far as the almighty-god stock market is concerned, it is grotesquely overvalued as it is, but the Fed will keep interest rates crushed into the dirt to keep the Wall Street 'fraud balloon' afloat.

You know I'm a dyed-in-the-wool right-winger, Te, but I have found it harder and harder to support Trump on the economy because he favors this whoring of the U. S. Dollar and browbeating the Fed into compliance with his desire for even more easy money as a 'lubricant' for the Wall Street Machine. The Fed has a BALANCE SHEET, right now, north of FOUR TRILLION DOLLARS, and it is making next to no progress in getting rid of all the toxic crap it 'bought' during the so-called 'great recession'. I fear that what you see coming is what I see coming, too... and that is truly remarkable considering how very much we differ on a dozen other things!

Hint: with the escalating factor of 25% tariffs on everything coming from China, look for every retailer in America to STICK IT TO American consumers. Wait until everybody strolls into Walmart and elsewhere in the coming weeks and finds the price of everything has increased dramatically! It's coming, Te, and both of us, Left and Right, are going to suffer for it....

In regards to the effect of Tariffs (or a trade war with China), everyone has known (for YEARS) that (if the USA placed tariffs on Chinese goods) that "Americans are going to pay more at Walmart".

That is hardly any sort of news.

Trump's "China Trade Policy" (assuming that he has one, and isn't just making it up as he goes along) is incredibly misguided.

    Hello, Frank

I'm curious about 2 things. Do you dislike Trump because of his personal style or on policy matters?

Why are you an Independent? Is there something about the Democrats you don't like? I am fairly conservative but moderate on policies, and I am an Independent because there are certain things I don't like about Republicans.

    Just wondering.

I find it hard to disagree with you, either (dammit!). The Chinese are very patient, and they're playing a waiting-game, Andy. They figure Trump will be gone soon and then they'll be able to deal with yet another simple-minded, do-nothing Democrat like Obama (or someone equally worthless like "W" Bush). They'll continue to 'negotiate' and 'have talks' and blah-blah-blah, getting Trump to "kick the can", until, as they imagine it, there is no more Trump in their way....

The Chinese have no intention whatever of recognizing "intellectual-property rights"... it is an utterly ALIEN concept to them. Anyway, unfortunately, you are right... we're all going to get screwed royally "at Walmart", and everywhere else. Thanks largely to Korporate Amerika which off-shored everything it possibly could, as fast and as thoroughly as it could, starting with the fall of the Soviet Union....

    It is ALREADY HAPPENING, Cy!

If you need a new major appliance you are going to pay at $100 more NOW than you did BEFORE the BLOTUS started his insane trade war with China.

Yes, you are correct that EVERYTHING ELSE that is made in China is going to cost more.

Here is the part that BLOTUS supporters are not going to like. They are bragging about his "booming economy" that he INHERITED while not realizing that his TRADE WAR is about to WIPE OUT any wage increases that a few were lucky enough to enjoy at the beginning. Since the MAJORITY did NOT receive those increases they are already feeling the pain of those higher prices. As soon as the LAYOFFS begin the consumer market will collapse and the next RECESSION will be upon us with a VENGENCE!

Hardworking Americans are going to suffer because of the BLOTUS, the Federal Reserve and the Wall Street Casino Bosses. Will it happen BEFORE the 2020 election? I don't know but I suspect that they are propping the economy up because if it collapses BEFORE the BLOTUS is toast and so is the GOP. That means that they will heavily back the Dem ESTABLISHMENT candidate and try and keep this SCAM going from the other side of the aisle.

Without a decent non-establishment candidate in the Whitehouse we are all going to be worse off.

I wish that I was wrong about this but everything I know tells me that I am right.

    And yes, that SUCKS!

    Hey, Seth.

I despise the fact that Trump is the face of America on the world's stage. I don't care that he is crooked in his business undertakings...and I don't mind the steady roar of fighter jets over my house when he is in Bedminster...and I certainly do not care that he is immoral.

In a complex world like this...it is tough to get things right as a politician...so I do not over-factor in what I see as incompetence.

I just do not want him as the face of America. I consider him one of the most classless people I've ever seen in public life.

I had a big to-do with the Democrats here where I live. It got ugly...and I decided to abandon the party. My personal stance has me positioned as a progressive on most things, although there are some issues where I am much closer to the other side.

I had a much more favorable regard for Republicans back in the late 20th century. They often were a terrific loyal opposition...which I see as a vital function of politics.

As a group, they do not like government...and I think their ability to govern is suspect.

I wish they would clean up their act and become the much needed loyal opposition once again.

    Frank.

Thanks for your answer, Frank. Brevity is not my forte, but I'll try.

I can't stand the Progressives who are constantly trying to divide America by race, gender, and class, and who cast us as enemies of each other. I truly hate that. Those who do that will never get my vote.

And I don't care for Republicans who, in my opinion, give lip service to the little guy but who don't stand up for him with their actions. And Democrats are just as hypocritical, if not more, in this regard.

I dislike politicians on both sides who are irresponsible with military force around the world. I believe that if they support a war of choice, we should give 'em a rifle and put them on the front lines. Or put their kids there.

And neither side seems really willing to pay for anything. Democrats want everyone to have free everything, but they don't talk about how to pay for it. Republicans say they like balanced budgets, but not by raising taxes. They don't mind spending, but they don't like paying.

    So I remain an Independent.

Oh? Well... that's a hell of a lot 'easier said than done', Robert....

Most of my adult life was spent working very closely with computers and computer technology. How would you like to try to build your own computer and use NO parts made in China, or by a Chinese-owned company? Before you answer, you may want to closely examine some of those companies....

It is interesting to see how badly the stock market 'swooned' after the Fed raised interest rates by a microscopic QUARTER-OF-A-POINT in December. Virtually 'free' money is very addicting, and Wall Street got hopelessly addicted to it starting in August 2007 (I watched it happen, and maybe you did, too).

As you've seen, I haven't blamed Obama for what the Fed did! I don't give him 'credit', but I certainly don't condemn him for any of the Fed's 'magic tricks', like all the "QE's", Operation Twist, buying trillions of dollars of toxic paper CRAP, and moving heaven and earth to save those it thought were "too big to fail".

We're in such a threatened position now that I can't see what any of these central bank cartels (including the European Central Bank, the Bank of England, the Bank of Japan, etc.) can do but keep on "kicking the can".

Isn't it interesting that neither Russia nor China have these problems, even though they've put together a string of some of the more astounding and successful business deals throughout the world for the past five years (and their GDP versus national debt is a tiny fraction of ours, too)?!

"Belt-and-Road"? Natural gas pipelines from Asia to Europe? Gigantic deals with India, and with Africa? And we sit over here like a roomful of angry children, totally smothered by a central banking cartel, and saddled with two political parties that are bent on tearing our country to pieces!

I wonder which country Progressives would rather live in that is less white than the US.

(And please don't say Japan, most of their policies tend to be very Conservative. Some might say Singapore but that's a tiny country the size of a big city and I doubt many Americans would actually like living there, quality of life is not very good for a First World country, wages are low and housing is expensive)

    Yes it was

"“Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all [the English] We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.”"

They were in a foreign country telling foreigners how they were with them not America and right aboutt they didn't want the war and right about they don't like Bush and right about he is from Texas. That was about all they were right about and yes if they didn't realize their core audience would not appreciate what they did and how they only made it worse with their further statements that's their own problem.

Seth, while we agree on most of the above I don't agree that it is the Progressives who are responsible for what you are saying in the bolded paragraph above.

Republicans refer to blacks as "thugs" which is dividing America by race.

Republicans refer to women as "feminazis" which is dividing America by gender.

Republicans refer to liberals as "socialists" and "communists" which is dividing America by class.

The division STARTED on the extreme right and it has infected our entire nation, unfortunately.

I am not suggesting that you support Progressives but it would be illogical for you to support Republicans given that they are to blame for what you are alleging that Progressives are doing.

    Just my two cents worth.

And the overriding logic you propose then is don't buy anything if it's made in China, or by a Chinese-owned company...? I used computer components as an example, and you said, "Don't buy!" I'm afraid THAT 'horse' left the 'barn' a LONG time ago, Robert....

I'm an old guy... I watched ALL of this happen after the fall of the Soviet Union. Suddenly, it was SAFE to 'off-shore' anything any American corporation wanted to. Cheap labor, special consideration from corrupt foreign government officials, cheaper channels for raw resources, cheap real estate, cheap transportation costs, wider distribution to new markets worldwide, and probably best of all: the ability to shelter PROFITS made in off-shore operations indefinitely from U. S. TAXATION!

Oh, and now, a new paradigm has come into full-flower -- not only is foreign labor cheaper, but by contrast the domesic, home-grown labor force in the United States is so badly-educated, inexperienced, slovenly, lazy, and distracted that even if production were moved back to inside America, WHO'S GOING TO DO THE WORK...? :omg:

[IMG]. "Dude, I'll, like, you know, get on it after I'm done looking at my cool stuff on Facebook...." :spin:

    Hey there, Derideo,

I have never heard Republicans refer to "blacks" as thugs. I have heard the term applied to black criminals, but I have heard the term applied to white criminals as well. It's a term applied to criminals. As a matter of fact, I'm half way through a book right now on organized crime on the NY waterfront in the early 20th Century. The author uses the term "thug" often, but this book is about white Irish criminal gangs, and the author uses the term to describe them, not black people.

Yeah, I've heard that one. What I would suggest is that we all remove the words "Nazi", "Fascist", "sexist", and "racist" from the political conversation. Let's also remove "Hitler" from the conversation.

Also, I do not want to hear a female presidential candidate mentioning her gender. I don't want to hear that we should elect the "first woman president" as Hillary did all the time. Understand that I would vote for a woman over a man any day of the week if she reflects my views on things more than her male opponent. For example, I would vote for Nikki Haley over Joe Biden or Bernie. I just want to hear what the candidate would do as president. I don't care about his/her gender. Don't try to get my vote that way. And don't act like a woman automatically owes her vote to a female candidate if she knows what's good for her.

As an aside, of all the announced Dems running for president, the one I would be most comfortable with is Tulsi Gabbard. She is smart, articulate, classy, patriotic, and has an independent streak in her that I like.

... unless the candidate self-describes himself that way. Doesn't Bernie call himself a "democratic socialist"? If he does, that brings the term into the conversation.

I do not want to hear liberals calling their opponent's supporters "deplorables".

I do not like liberals touting their education level versus everyone else.

And they can stop referring to vast areas of the country as "flyover states" as if they don't matter.

I don't know "who started it" back when. But in the present day, it is liberals who use race, gender, and economic class like a sledgehammer. They need to stop that.

    Back atcha. :twocents:

They were black-balled by fans who highly disagreed with their criticizing the US and the President in a foreign country and as if they speak for the state of Texas.

Two rules in every band I have ever played in, do NOT discuss politics or religion on the stage and keep it out of the band.
