Yes, and depending on what state you're in hollow points can be illegal.

    Really.

In what state is a hollow point illegal?

I'm only aware of brass bullets and some states for ammunition that is specifically designed as "armor piercing".

    LoL.

    https://lawcenter.giffords.org/gun-...mmaries/ammunition-regulation-state-by-state/

    Regulation of Unreasonably Dangerous Ammunition

New Jersey generally prohibits any person from knowingly possessing, manufacturing, transporting, shipping, selling, or disposing armor piercing ammunition.7

New Jersey also prohibits the knowing possession of any hollow nose or dum-dum bullet.8 Hollow nose and dum-dum are terms associated with bullets designed to expand on impact. These terms are not specifically defined under New Jersey law.

The federal prohibition on certain kinds of armor-piercing ammunition also applies.

See our Ammunition Regulation policy summary for a comprehensive discussion of this issue.

The morons in NJ clearly don't understand why hollow points are designed to expand.

Maybe that's why their murder rate is so high.

Mark off another state I'd never set foot in.

I spent a lot of time in that area in my youth. Ohio, VA, WV. Used to go climbing and rappelling in Erie before I joined the military.

Now I'm living the dream in the big skies and areas of wilderness out west.

Ohio and West Virginia are other great states you might really like. You probably would not like Virginia today what with all that's going on there.

You might like Nevada, they've got Front Sight.

I only train 5 hours a week . That is all I can do with a skinny 44 year old body

    2 hours - MMA wrestling
    1 hour- Kickboxing
    2 hours - BJJ ( which I re-starting at a new gym next month)

    Monday-Thurs
    Fri-Sun- REST REST REST

A real fighter does 5 hours a day

About 10 years ago there was this guy teaching aikido on tv. He demonstrated one technique and then said, "but the opponent can do this" and showed it whereupon he said, 'but then you should do" and showed that, whereupon the other guy said " but that can be countered with" and then the instructor said, "at this point, you stop fighting and shake hands because you must both be from the same school and you're not supposed to fight" :p

Who does 5 hours a day? Maybe a small minority of professional fighters can handle something like that. That's a sure path towards constantly being injured.

You can practice on your own a lot. Or take the opportunity to improve strength and flexibility and cardio. Hit a punching bag. I'm in the same situation but I still am drilling wrestling with my brother and practicing stuff online.

My lower back is too screwed up so I will not be doing any more kicks until mid April

I will just practice on the ground with my invisible friend.

I found this amazing new BJJ school North of me but its closed for now.
I cannot wait to join twice a week along with my MMA school

True, unless they catch a guillotine on the way down. A heavy sprawl with a cross face is the best, but yeah... you have to be a wrestler to know it, or from an MMA gym that teaches it.

My son was fortunate that it was a big deal in his BJJ Gym. It translated well for him when he went into Wrestling.

Oh brother! Here goes the ignorance and crap we true martial artists have to endure. Which system is the best crap. The last time I watched boxing, there is little blocking that goes on. Just a person's head punching the other's glove 3 minutes a pop. The one thing a boxer can never defend is a kick to the knee from the side. Or, a good sweep move and then while on the ground a few kicks to the groin, ribs and head. Of course, I'm talking about a real fight. No holds barred.

I've known black belts who go out on weekends and purposely get into fights to test their training. Sometimes they lose. But, it gives them an opportunity to throw away that which doesn't work and find new defenses and offenses that do work. But, hopefully, the martial arts teaches someone that it isn't necessary to fight unless it's purely self-defense. I like the new Corbra Kai TV show on Netflix with Lawrence and Danielson. They've done a good job with it.

Well, not all fights stay off the ground. In fact, most fights end up on the ground in which wrestling has its advantages.
