    At this point, I consider it anti-American behaviour not to be concerned about what is happening in the White House.

    The Times today is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a senior official in the Trump administration whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure. We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers.

    The root of the problem is the president’s amorality. Anyone who works with him knows he is not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision making.

    Although he was elected as a Republican, the president shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives: free minds, free markets and free people. At best, he has invoked these ideals in scripted settings. At worst, he has attacked them outright.

    In addition to his mass-marketing of the notion that the press is the “enemy of the people,” President Trump’s impulses are generally anti-trade and anti-democratic.

    Meetings with him veer off topic and off the rails, he engages in repetitive rants, and his impulsiveness results in half-baked, ill-informed and occasionally reckless decisions that have to be walked back.

    Why would they quit? They think some of the stuff this admin is doing is good for America and want to stay to stop the stupid stuff.

    Saw some good reporting about how writing this undermines the cabinets ability to do exactly what they allege in this op ed
    Now trump will be even more reckless and paranoid

    Actually it's a bureaucrat, an Obama White House hold over. He may have also worked in the Bush (43) White House.
    You have professional government employees who work in the White House no matter who the President is. These people will work for two or more administrations. They are professional federal employees.

    Who ever he is, he's a coward by remaining anonymous and by admitting that he's part of the "RESISTANCE" to take down the President of the United States. Kinda meets the definition of being a mole with in the White House or even a traitor to the U.S. Government.

    Trump had to hire a lot of people for the WH.

    there are a good 10% of them who think he is nuts

    I don't disagree with a lot of what is in the letter. I do disagree with publishing it.

    However, instead of doing what this person is doing, they should just resign.

    What makes you think it's just not a Republican who is willing to tell the world that the Emperor has No Clothes?
    Or you could just fire anyone who has any morals - that should leave the White House Trump safe ...

    Because he wants to keep his federal job until he has 30 years under his belt so he can retire with full benefits.

    This guy couldn't hold down a real job in the private sector.

    I think where he blew it big time was by admitting that he's part of the "resistance."

    There has to be more than a few bureaucrats working in the Trump White House suffering from TDS.

    Ithink they are panicking knowing that Mueller couldn't find any evidence of Trump in collusion with the Russians and are coming to reality that Mueller is conducting a witch hunt.

    16 or so months ago Trump was advised, get rid of all of the Obama holdovers.

    It's an extraordinary op-ed piece, and I think the White House stands a good chance of finding this person if the individual he quoted in the piece outs him or her, we'll see. Trump's problem is this person is not alone, there is a group of them. Like everyone, I'm curious...;)

    What an extraordinary event this is, just remarkable.....
