Why are the Bulgarians in all the wars of the 20th century and now in the organizations hostile to Russia, despite the fact that thanks to Russia they gained independence?

 

Fail. Bulgaria started the great war by attacking the Ottomans without any help at all. Without any support. We started the April Uprising, all by ourselves. Russia decided to join because of territorial gains. And the fact that we already killed a lot of Ottomans.

Russians backstabbed Bulgaria more times than anybody else. Russia stabbed all Bulgarians in the back the most harsh way with the Treaty of Berlin from 1878.

The Treaty of Berlin from 1878 reversed all of the gains claimed by Bulgaria in the preliminary Treaty of San Stefano. It is a well known fact that in Berlin, as well as during the signing in San Stefano, there were no Bulgarian representatives. Bulgaria relied on the goodwill of the "Great Powers", while each of them was pursuing its own interests. The Congress of Berlin divided Bulgaria in parts - the Principality of Bulgaria and East Rumelia, which became an autonomous region under the sultan's rule, while Macedonia, Edirne Thrace and the Rhodopes were returned to the Ottoman Empire.

March 3, 1878 with the signing of the Treaty of San Stefano between Russia and Turkey. According to it, liberated after 5 centuries of Ottoman oppression, Bulgaria became "an autonomous principality with Christian government and a people's militia." They were scared sh*tless that Bulgaria was gonna be a great power and a major player. So they cut us down. Russia cut us down.

After this treaty, Bulgaria's territory got cut 3 times. Pathetic. Germany and Austria did not want united and powerful Bulgaria - ruler on the Balkans and Southern Europe, so they sat with Russia, and chose the destiny of Bulgaria. Russia said "Yes!". That's why the Balkan Wars started.

Solzhenitsyn lived in the Soviet Union under Stalin, fought in WWII and was sent to the Gulag for slave labor - he is a fine Russian! I enjoyed reading his books.

I suppose "despotism" is everywhere - beginning with your parents, working its way through
school, into employment etc.. We need to define "despotism" because there's despotism and
there's despotism. When your own citizens are murdered you know despotism is on another
level.
This is why I refuse to engage in moral equivalency between liberal democratic nations and
theocratic/socialist/fascist dictatorships.
You can hate American media, but no-one dreams of murdering journalists like Islamist and

One can't tell the truth in/from Russia or one would be dead for it.

Russia is a just a large Mafia operation with 20 or so Capos/Oligarchs kicking up to the Don.

It's fascinating.
You look at a map of Russia and can't help but be staggered at its size.
Seven time zones. More resources maybe than any country on earth.
Large, educated population.
And economically it's just one twentieth the size of the USA.
That's 1/20 folks, about Australia's economic size.

The major reason for this is the Russian mind. A land of poets and
dreamers, chess players and dancers - and people who love "strong

And the nature is really amazing. They have Siberian tigers, yes, real f*cking tigers and polar bears. Astonishing nature, really.

My point is that Russia is very vast and big and all sorts of beasts live there and you can meet a friken tiger or a polar bear. While in Bulgaria you can only meet a coyote. Our bear population is now at around 200-300 black bears nationwide. Even less. These are accurate numbers.
