I challenge any Feminist to debate that Feminism is an equality movement
I suppose I can be called Feminist so I'll play. Women have been considered the Homemakers and mothers of family life for all time and are now being placed in a position in which economics and society force them in many ways to take on the relatively new role of bread winning as well. This requires them to obviously join the work force which has always been a male dominated environment. At first this was fought against by the status quo and was eventually normalized. The sexism and "needy" mentality which was fostered for a very long time by males has yet to be completely quelled and women are working to take this last step.
From this we see pushback from many males and the advent of the #MeToo phenomenon as well as some men bringing back the word "Feminism" as a negative attack phrase. In this we certainly note the movement toward equal rights and the anger of men as they are won....if only because they seem to perceive it as losing their rights and fearing or disliking a strong woman.
If Feminism is an equality movement then why don't Feminists care as much, or at all, about the sentencing gap as they do the wage gap???
The wage gap is estimated to be 22% and the sentencing gap is at least 63% and 63% is nearly 3 times more than 22%-right???
Likely because it is not a criminal justice movement and because the issue you bring up is a fringe concern vs mainstream.
Why is it not a mainstream concern???
It is an inequality between genders.
Women are at least 3 times less accountable than men when they commit the same crimes as men.
Shouldn't equality also mean equal accountability.
Ultimately equality is in the best interest of women.
Do you disagree???
I am unaware of the inequality in sentencing you refer to...perhaps if you showed it as true I would reply as requested.

This paper assesses gender disparities in federal criminal cases. It finds large gender gaps favoring women throughout the sentence length distribution (averaging over 60%), conditional on arrest offense, criminal history, and other pre-charge observables. Female arrestees are also significantly likelier to avoid charges and convictions entirely, and twice as likely to avoid incarceration if convicted. Prior studies have reported much smaller sentence gaps because they have ignored the role of charging, plea-bargaining, and sentencing fact-finding in producing sentences. Most studies control for endogenous severity measures that result from these earlier discretionary processes and use samples that have been winnowed by them. I avoid these problems by using a linked dataset tracing cases from arrest through sentencing. Using decomposition methods, I show that most sentence disparity arises from decisions at the earlier stages, and use the rich data to investigate causal theories for these gender gaps.
Ultimately equality is in women's best interests and women will achieve more if they are equal.
Consider this thought experiment:
Disregard gender for a second and just consider that two candidates are applying for a job with a fortune 500 company
Let's call them candidate A and candidate B
Candidate A is not accountable for the consequences of candidate A's actions and choices while candidate B is accountable for candidate B's actions and choices.
Which candidate is likely to be hired and be an Asset to the company???
Candidate A the unaccountable candidate or candidate B the accountable candidate
Equal accountability is equality.
Modern Feminism is not working for equality.
Modern Feminism is working to make women completely unaccountable for everything.
Is there a reason you did not include a link I can read for the data I requested or even the Paper title so I can look it up?
After researching this I must agree there is gender discrimination in sentencing for women, just as there is for race and many other aspects.
Do you have any suggestions on how to eliminate this?
In my view, equality should not have any 'ya, buts'. So ultimate equality should include all issues.
There is a 10% sentencing gap between Caucasoid and Negroid offenders and look at how much is made of this sentencing gap in comparison to the over five times greater sentencing gap between men and women.
Most people are not even aware of the sentencing gap that exists between men and women, yet nearly everyone is aware of the sentencing gap between Caucasoid and Negroid offenders-why is that?
My solution to eliminate the sentencing gap between men and women and all sentencing gaps is Equalitarianism.
Equalitarians judge everyone as individuals based on their merit-regardless of their race and gender.
Not all women are good just as all men are not bad. There are bad women and there are good men.
Merit does not depend on one's race and/or gender, rather merit depends on the individual regardless of their race and gender.
Equality should also mean equal accountability.
Okay...sounds good. So what other feminism issues should be debated?
The Wage Gap.
The wage gap is another instance of Feminists working to absolve women of being accountable.
Translation: They benefit from it.
There is also a massive disparity in on the job fatalities.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released its annual Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries
4,761 men dying on the job compared to 386 women in 2017. The fatality rate for men was about 10 times that of women: 5.7 per 100,000 vs. 0.6 per 100,000 for women.
Keep in mind that these Gender Studies Pukes are not geniuses.
Milking cows is “sexual abuse.”
NY univ. promotes paper comparing cow insemination to 'rape,' milking cows to 'sexual abuse'
A journal published by a New York university Gender Studies department recently put out a paper meant to call attention to the “sexual exploitation” of dairy cows.
The author argues that in order to be a true advocate for feminism, one must consider the commodification of a dairy cow's reproductive rights.
The published piece aims at discussing the “sexual exploitation of non-human bodies, specifically dairy cows.” The author notes that “as a vegan and animal rights activist,” she feels compelled to reveal the “feminist aspects of animal agriculture,” a topic she says is unfortunately “under-researched,” but is nonetheless important because “the same way women’s health has been at stake for years, a dairy cow’s reproductive system has been poked and prodded.”
According to the publication, “the dairy industry is a host for sex-based discrimination,” and a “site where sexual assault and objectification based on biological makeup are highly prevalent but ignored as we choose to neglect non- humans with whom we share a planet.”
The paper argues that “in order to fully fight gendered oppression,” society must also address the plight of dairy cows, which it asserts are “still subjects to sex-based discrimination and violence,” despite their voices being “not always lifted or comprehensible.”
I read a "study," by a Feminist that claimed slouching (bad posture) is discrimination against women and leads to rape, wage inequality...et cetera
I thought, "ok this study has to be a joke," but nope its a real thing in Feminism they call it, "manspreading."
Feminist cite that only 27% of congress is female but they say nothing about the dirty, demeaning, difficult, dangerous work that men have always done that makes civilization possible.
For example, 99% of garbage collectors are male.
Why aren't feminists complaining about the gender disparity between men and women in the un-prestigious dangerous work???
Feminists are just working to get more women in prestigious jobs-that's not equality
They are man-haters that wish us to sit in a fashion that crushes our balls. And they hate Trump, part of why we all like Trump so much, he makes all the right enemies.
Despite earning more degrees in secondary education from AA degrees to PhD's, women are choosing not to major in subjects men are more likely to major in that make them qualified for lucrative careers , therefore; they are making less money than men and this is Men's fault???
That's not accountability.
Equality should also mean equal accountability-should it not???
Okay...so women like different things than men? And some jobs pay more than others...makes sense to me.
Despite earning more degrees than men from AA degrees to PhD's women are choosing not to major in subjects men are more likely to major in that make them qualified for the lucrative careers...….***
It is a matter of men and women liking different things but it's also a matter of work effort.
The majors men tend to choose are more grueling than the majors women tend to choose to study and there are fewer people who can complete the demanding majors men are more likely to choose to study.
It's a case of supply and demand.
Many people can walk a mile in under an hour but very few people can run a mile in under 4 minutes.
Take two subjects one dominated by women and the other dominated by men.
80% of physics graduates are men and 80% of elementary education graduates are women.
Physics is much more grueling than elementary education and there are fewer people who can even complete a degree in physics.
Choice is not discrimination.
I agree....so since most women do not claim discrimination but it seems you are...where does that leave us?
Equalitarians do not believe in equal outcomes we simply believe inequalities are wrong when those inequalities are the result of discrimination.
When an inequality is not the result of discrimination such as say an inequality that is the result of Biology or choice, Equalitarians do not believe the inequality is wrong; we believe it just is.
For example, men tend to be stronger than women, which is an inequality that is the result of Biology. However men are not always stronger than women.
For example, two women recently passed the Army's elite ranger training school.
Most men couldn't do that.
Therefore, people should be judged as individuals based on their merit, regardless of their race and gender.
