Alas, ones "Free Speech" is anothers cowards insult. Free speech allows for the Neo Nazi to spew hatred and also allows him to whine when he gets called on it.

I can't remember the name of the site now, but the Nazis got more than they gave, and it made for a busy life!

This is one of my all-time favorite vids of 2017: a total dork who was once a fat, out of shape, parking meter futzi in New Hampshire and back then, even interviewed by Stephen Colbert. He then buffed up, although he could find no women willing to get within 20 meters of him, so he fell in love with old Adolph and thought he could be a loudmouth and become famous on a Charlottesville Film, only to find that an arrest warrant was waiting for him, and so he cries like a 2 year old on the web.

Priceless, just priceless. Irony can be soooo sweet.

I recognize it as cognitive infiltration of the forum. Most forums are infiltrated. Some forums tolerate it more than others. Some forums exist just to enable it.

Spotting it and dealing with it has become a specialty. In three years, starting in 2013, I shut down 3 conservative forums likely financed by the koch bros to manipulate tea partiers. The 4th, didn't get shut down, but exposed themselves as being part of a group following me.

I don't believe YOU caused any forum to be shut down. I see numerous "liberals" on many different political forums, both using the same ID or different IDs. The same for some conservatives. Both "like a group" and both groups link to matters of their same viewpoints. I only post on this forum and as a rule am only participating on ONE forum at a time - for months or years - but read others. The link you provided is some wacky conspiracy theory that adds up to nothing either way.

Forums change NO ONE'S opinion on anything of any significance - ever. "Infiltrating" a forum would accomplish absolutely nothing and anyone who participates on political forums understands this. If some forum is ganged up on by some group it may damage the forum participation, but won't change anything politically or legislatively.

I do know someone who got two major political forums shut down - more participants than this one - but it had nothing to do with politics, legislation or agenda. It had to do with games some forum staff members were playing that were extremely offensive, increasingly civilly actionable, in one instance criminally actionable and came to reach into the real world. This created very real legal issues (civil and criminal) for the owners of the forum, which was a major corporation that wanted neither the potential adverse publicity or litigation. Among those being pricked with in real ways was a woman who was exceptionally wealthy and of an exceptionally wealthy collective circle that went to war - with the technical, legal and economic power to do so. They used detectives, literally, on the ground. They also cut thru the forum's security like a hot knife thru warm butter, ability to identify the true identity of nearly everyone on interest posting, including the true identities of all administrators and moderators, as the collective included true professional super geeks in the computer industry.

It became so intense and reaching into the real world the FBI became involved, including raiding one of those forum's moderator's home to seize computers. People were getting fired, expelled from universities or personal business wiped out, with massive amounts of retaliatory damaging personal information being posted online off the forums. Pictures of the people, names, addresses, phone numbers, relatives information, employment, school, and attaching that to quotes of what they had posted on forum (remember how extreme many people post hiding behind an ID.)

Probably the most shocker moment - other than the FBI raid - was when a moderator - the worst - was on the forum boasting to an adversary that it would be impossible to ever figure out how he is - and the person responded that moderator should use his forum tools to check the IP the responses were being posted from - because the responses on the forum were coming from the moderator's own IP address and "we are just outside your front door," which was true. Literally had located the moderator, cut into his own wireless, and was posting thru his own wireless IP address just outside his front door. Probably quite a shocker. That mod wisely didn't open the door because it was some guys sent by an very angry wealthy husband for what the mod had been posting about his wife - and a serious person threat the mod had sent to her by email trying to make it an anonymous email.

The corporation shut it all down as part of am overall legal settlement deal. THAT is what "shutting a forum down" means. NOT "exposing infiltration," which is nothing at all. The other way is to get the hosting company to shut it down for porn or other objections, but that would just involve finding another host.

I was not a participant on either side, but did watch this unfolding on the forum. My only participation was to post a few messages to try to warn that people may not be as anonymous as they believe if true push comes to shove and everyone should back off because its getting out of hand.

You didn't force any forum by "exposing infiltration." That is nonsensical. You overrate yourself and the importance of political forums. They are mostly a form of entertainment. Don't take this so seriously.

One particularly comes to mind. It seems like the private harassment playground for certain staffers, with their groupies joining in. It does have at least 3 very good mods. But the Admin and his side kick mod are particularly into using the forum for playing cat and mouse with people they don't like, including using their mod powers and groupie followings to stalk and harass some people like a game.

Forums tend to start good, but trolls and spammers accumulate and less and less good people join, with good members quitting. They also become redundant and boring, so playing flaming and stalking games becomes more popular as the membership shifts in that direction anyway. I've seen a number of political forums follow that evolution.

I view debate as chess and thinking ahead two or three moves or in this case post is the fun and challenging part. It's most fun when just as in chess you can lure your opponent into a trap with what seems like missteps on your part. Unfortunately checkmate in here is not as clearly defined and people can wiggle out or just knock the board over and walk away.

LOL! You are using cognitive distortions of "all or nothing thinking" and "Minimizing". Acting like an agent.

Do you accept these definitions of the most prime constitutional intent?

    1) We have the right to alter or abolish government destructive to unalienable rights.

    2) If the framers intended for Americans to alter or abolish then they intended that the ultimate PURPOSE of free speech be to enable Americans to unify under law in order to alter or abolish government destructive to unalienable rights.

    Yeah, sure.

So what if a group is following you? You think that makes you some kind of leader?

Excellent! 2) is vital for our futures and the 9th Amendment accommodates our adaptations. It is the end of secrecy and media exclusively serving tyrants blocking the people from unity and control of themselves for survival and evolution.

If I were working on the only way to really stop tyranny and preserve the natural world, would tyrants want to interfere in my efforts to show people how Americas framing documents do indeed provide for an omnipotent lawful and peaceful resolution to ANY problem with government?

After seeing 3 forums disappear and joining a new conservative forum to expose more and having instead them expose the fact they were part of a group that was historically tracking, copying and pasting my activity with a majority of the forum on board with it the misrepresentation and evasion indicates something. The point is can anyone notice? Can they reason with the information and conduct critical thinking?

This is a different battle than you think it is, and I'm not altogether certain that the opposition to the people we see does not represent an unconscious collective acceptance of extinction by powerful factions.

Something tells me you've barely looked at the page and sequence of events over the 3 years prior.

Then, for years, I posted about 9/11, facts, a great deal, and learned a lot about HOW covert agents operate on the web.

Why I stopped visiting, posting regularly to this site: When I first started posting here, the site was less active, but people also discussed the topics. Now nearly every thread quickly devolves into partisan bickering - or starts there and just continues the slide downhill. Instead of intellectually stimulating discussions with well-thought out arguments, it's become more about trying to provoke and insult people, and the 'arguments' rely more on dishonesty, distraction, deflection. It started around the time of the 2004 election season. It's like a contest to see who can be the meanest, or come up with the best 'burns', rather than trying to explore the many facets of an issue.

And yes - that means it's become completely predictable and boring. Always the same people, saying the same stuff, over and over again. So much so, that I could almost write their posts for them.

And no, I'm not back. Nothing changed while I was away (at least not for the positive.)

This actually makes my point. It's not about the topics anymore. It's about sarcasm, personal attack, jabbing, etc. Some find that entertaining. I personally don't, and that's why this isn't the place for me.

I don't see it as a game at all. The fate of the nation is hanging by a thread; we have core right-wingers defending concepts from Nazi Germany, and they elected a con man and thug to office who might well start WWIII. This is anything but a game.

To me, this is all about exposing the stupidity of the right wing for what it is. Their arguments are generally dumb or absurd to the point of being mind numbing. If you hit on a good argument that really rings, it can spread. I've seen it happen.

The left can be really dumb but the right wing is a threat to the world and all of humanity.

Thanks for your calm response to an unnecessary insult. I guess we're always going to get the insults, but the conversation goes down fast if you reply in kind.

The vast majority of interaction does indeed revolve around information and opinion exchange with civility and positive intent. There are however individuals who do not engage this way and instill negative or sarcastic reaction, which requires a certain nuance and humor to not only be acceptable to staff but also send messages to the more adept users and often result in chuckles.

Now hold your horses, sonny! The greatest threats to the world and all of humanity have both come from the left - Nazism and Communism. Such Collective delusions, economic insanity and authoritarian megalomania has always, and will always, end up in catastrophy. The Right never killed anyone. And no, modern Republicans, the Military Complex and other government institutions are not to be confused for "right wing" since democracy in itself is a left-wing idea. In modernday, Western party politics there is only left and centre-right.

Thank you for your response. It sounded like you were advocating malicious sarcasm, but I see you were not. A bit of lighthearted sarcasm is a good thing.

The negative side to this is its a feeding ground for "board personalities". Ones that will then go to any lengths off the board.
Places like FB are kind of meh...but you can belong to different groups for discussion. Members are held accountable there and people know you in real life. Some extended family might be a problem lol, but its great keeping connected with so many people.

    >>>MOD EDIT Quoted Posted Deleted <<<

You haven't been on many forums, have you? This forum is attentively moderated, but from what I've seen no moderator here uses that power to mess with people on the forum, assemble groupies to stalk other members, or looking for reasons to impose infractions. It seems they more look to the motive of a message that is outside of the rules as to whether a warning or infraction is warranted. I never knowingly break a rule but in the heat of debate or badly worded teasing or satire have done so. If so, I appreciate a mod warning rather than infraction and it reminds this forum is for debating topics, not anonymous members getting into pissing matches, which are guidelines and goals I agree with.

A civilized forum attracts the best members and insults-based forums increasingly fill with troll, punks and spammers. I have no interest in low moderated forums nor forums that are the moderators personal playhouse.

The forum's goal as declared is to have civilized debate of topics similar to a round table debate between opposing views commentators that you might see on TV or like open letters to the editor of a newspaper that allows others to comment on what each person says in their letter. Obscenities don't fit into that. The blocking of words is automatic within the software, not moderator actions, to prevent the forum from degrading to members just hurling obscenities at each other - which does happen on other forums. Also, on some other political forums moderators inject themselves into topics using their mod position as a weapon, lever or to claim superiority. I have never seen any instances of that here.

The longer you are here, the more you get to know the regulars to the point you know where each one of us stands generally, which adds a personal touch - both positive and negative - in relation to others.

The forums that REALLY suck are those that are not moderated. Might as well be 13 years old shouting juvenile insults and obscenities at each other, plus massive cut and paste trolling and spamming. If the quality of your thinking process on political, social and general interest topics revolves around the word "sh*t" this might not be the best forum choice for you to make.
