Was there a timer on the child's head to show exactly how long he/she was left in the car alone? Only 5 minutes counts only if you know it's 5 minutes.

 

My guess is that there was prob CCTV footage, and she got it all resolved after 2 years and God knows how much money and anguish. Why are you determined to support busybodies and statism?

 

Situations like this will continue as long as there are people that think they know how to raise your kids better then you do. They will insist that the government be involved in parenting so they have the control they desire.

If you want to raise a child have your own, but leave other peoples kids alone....unless they are truly in danger. In this case, there was no danger and in the case of the park, if there was a danger it was a danger that the mother was willing to risk.

If you walk past a car a see a baby in it alone, how are you supposed to know how long the baby has been there? CCTV proving something 2 years later is totally irrelevant. What I probably would have done is stood there a few minutes to see if anyone came out.

 

A car with the windows down does not get hot enough to kill a healthy child. Also, in the case illustrated by the OP, it was 40 degrees F outside (March in Virginia).

Dad leaves the other small kids back at the tiny house ... err, shack and takes me to the hospital with him where Mom gave birth to her last child, my then youngest brother.

Dad left me in the car for hours. I did not feel unsafe and fortunately it was dark. But Sacramento can be an oven summers and he was born in June. Frankly he was an ass for leaving the other kids alone in that shack on 4 acres of land.
