Army Takes a Steady, Cautious Approach to Women in Infantry...

Army Takes a Steady, Cautious Approach to Women in Infantry
27 Nov 2017 | The young Army infantry recruits lined up in full combat gear, guns at the ready. At the signal, a soldier in front kicked in the door and they burst into the room, swiveling to check around the walls for threats. "You're dead!" one would-be enemy yelled out from a dark corner, the voice slightly higher than the others echoing through the building.

Women are socialized to be nurturers. Men can be just as nurturing with their children, certain,y capable of making lunch etc...but men doing traditional women’s roles are looked down upon. Men are very caring and nurturing

Were women to face women warriors, then of course they are equals. But the enemy wants his strongest sent to combat, not those less able to wage war.

Are we in the middle ages, fighting with sword and shield? No. We use projectile weapons like M-16's and AK-47's, or better yet, we sit miles away killing the enemy by remote control. At that point, strength is useless.

There are women who are as strong as some of the men in combat and womenn can pull the trigger as fast as a man..Equal does not mean the same. Women have the ability to get into smaller spaces when needed. I can tell you that women are warriors, try touching our kids

Again invest billions to make full body armor powered and then men and women can be the same, all bad asses in combat.

While I like the idea of an armored soldier, one problem is the enemy. The enemy comes up with solutions to armor. Armor is not light either compared to not using armor. I prefer ways to hit the enemy away from our troops so we do not have as much use for armor.

At some point there will have to be equality in sports, that is, no women's 100 meter dash and no men's 100 meter dash -- just the 100 meter dash.

I can sympathize with not wanting women in combat. But its MY problem that I have difficulty stomaching women lying broken on battlefeilds screaming for daddy... not theirs. If they want to fight and risk all the horrors that may befall contact with the enemy, they should be able to. Women in combat is nothing new. Historically, when a country is invaded and partizans form up, women do just fine.

Why does there "have to be equality"? In an open 100 meter, women will almost always lose. In tennis, the women pros practice against men who are far, far down the mens ladder, even practicing against college men. Same for soccer. And tennis and soccer have been the targets of "equality" for 40 years.

Men and women are different. Fact of life.

But equality is demanded in no uncertain terms, so the logical end is that sports cannot be segregated by sex or gender or anything else. Just like bathrooms.

Of course men and women are different...that doesn’t mean they are not equals. In a boxing match a 125lb man is different from a 200lb man.
Tennis wasn’t a good point to make. Remember Billie Jean King? Bobby Riggs said what you’re implying.....
I am not talking about sports I’m talking about socialize behavior

Another person who things being equal means being the same. 10 pennies equals one dime ....pennies and a dime are not the same but they are=

"Demand" does not change the reality that men and women are different. When "demand" is artificial and disconnected from reality, it sets you up for failure.

Actually, tennis is a great example.

The Billie Jean King versus Bobby Riggs was the exception - the reigning 29 year old womens champ beat a 55 year old non-pro man. Other matches of men vs women (such as Martina Navratilova vs Jimmy Conners) always resulted in the woman losing.

Before playing King, Riggs beat another woman pro, Margeret Court, another woman at the top of her game and with a much more impressive history than King.

Serena Williams and Venus Williams claimed they could beat any man outside the top 200 (essentially admitting they could not beat any of the top 200 men). Karsten Braasch (ranked #203) took them up on it and after playing a round of golf and drinking a few beers, he walked onto the court and trounced Serena and then Venus.

Serena WIlliams practices against Alex Bajin, a man who was ranked #900 on the mens circuit and does not even compete any longer. She practices against him because he does not totally overpower her, but is competitive in the women's world.

Many women pros train against top level Division 1 (college) men. That's the level of women pros.

The Universal Tennis Rating attempts to rate all players. Almost all men ranked #2000-3000 on the mens circuit are scored as a 14 or 15. The best women players on the WTA are scored 12 and 13 - the top 16 year old boys in the Tennis Europe Boys 16 are scored at 12. The top 100 men players are scored at 16.

Of course both are terrible. But I feel quite a bit less disturbed by male casualties than female casualties, for whatever reason.

As you said, that’s your issue. It’s kind of Like many people get more disturbed seeing a puppy getting beaten then a person.

Retention of Female Submariners on Par with Men
8 Mar 2018 — When the U.S. Navy sought the first female sailors to serve on submarines, Suraya Mattocks raised her hand because she had always thought it would be a cool job, not because she wanted to blaze a trail. She did anyway.

9 Mar 2018 - Don't forget this name: Capt. Amy Bauernschmidt. Bauernschmidt made history in 2016 when she became the first female executive officer of a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier.
