I think Obama should immediately release his records for 5 million to charity from a rich man who has too much money. liberals, please state your position:

"I have a deal for the president, a deal that I don't believe he can refuse, and I hope he doesn't. If Barack Obama opens up and gives his college records and applications and if he gives his passport applications and records, I will give to a charity of his choice - inner city children in Chicago, American Cancer Society, AIDS research, anything he wants–a check immediately for $5 million," Trump said. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/24/trumps-new-charity-drive/?hpt=hp_t2

I think that Donald Trump will get the tax write-off instead of Obama, so I think Obama should ask for the cash and donate it himself.

I also think Donald thought he had something and when he didn't he pulls this stunt to stay relevant.

You people do realize Trump said "once these documents are released to my satisfaction" specifically so he could say "I'm not satisfied" after they were released right? Trump has no plans of donating 5 million dollars to anyone. lol

That is a big possibility, because it's not the way it sounded couple days ago. but nonetheless, I think it's interesting to see Obama NOT release his records now for 5 million, I think it COULD be a game changer that Obama campaign may not realise in time: many undecideds may abandon voting for him if he can't even do a simple thing like being open in a little effort to get 5 million for the poor from the rich guy. puts him to total shame if he refuses IMO.

Trump is denying a charity 5 million dollars.

    That's all this is.

I think this could be a big win for The Obama if he does it. But if he don't, it looks like he's hiding somethin. What could be in this info requested worth hiding? If theres nothing there, take Trump up and give the money to military familys.

Military families don't want Bush or Obama's money for getting their spouses killed. They want their spouse back.

I can see why you like this idea, PvM, but I'm against it. I'm sick and tired of watching money make the government dance. The offer is an insult, not to Obama but to the American people. This is like rubbing everyone's faces in it.

Trump is a clown. He's a rich clown, so some people automatically take him seriously. But I don't.

Typical, liberalized non-sense, that is now making up the story as they go along...

Doesn't exist in the OP, or the OP link. So please, stop being ABC, and making your own stories...thanks for playing.

Note: Obama should release the records anyway. I do want more transparency from the government, and like it or not, Obama's a big part of the government.

But I don't want him to be any more of a money-puppet than he already is.

Release the records but refuse the money -- that would be the biggest win in my book.

I thought Trump is a clown up until now, I even made a thread about him couple days ago. But I dissagree with you: the offer is NOT an insult to someone who talks so much about 1. helping the poor and 2. openness - all he has to do is be open and let the poor of his choice collect the money! I am really surprised you're not on Trumpets side on this one, because I as an independent, who yes, also always viewed Trumpet as a joker, am siding with him on this one.

If that moron Trump is so desperate to give $5 million to charity then resorting to bribery isn't going to endear him to any of them, frankly. He knows full well that Obama's personal and private documents and records aren't going to be shown to anyone, because they're private and personal and not public property to be gawped at.
For conservatives for whom money is something to be worshipped, the Great God of The Greenback, Trump, must have them wetting themselves with religious fervour. To normal people he's an idiotic, self-serving, ridiculous nincompoop.

Nobody cares what this old kook thinks or says! This story will die quickly, I suspect the the Romney campaign is chagrined by this, but they probably won't let on.

    How goofy!

We can a scenario just like the Birth certificate!

"Show us the certificate and the matter is settled"
"Oh, we didn't mean the "short form" we meant the LONG form! Show us THAT and the matter is SETTLED!"
"Oh, no, we didn't mean a CERTIFIED COPY of the Long Form, we mean the ORIGINAL long form! Show us THAT and the matter is SETTLED!"
"Oh, no, we didn't mean the ORIGINAL long form, we meant the certificate of birth from the hospital! Show us THAT and the matter is SETTLED!"
"Oh, that is NOT the REAL certificate, its a FAKE COPY, even if the State of Hawaii SAYS it is real. SHow us the ORIGINAL and the matter is SETTLED!"
    Blah, blah, blah

A charity would have as much chance of being hit by a meteor as to get this mythical $5 million from Trump no matter WHAT Obama were to do.

This is true but raising the dead is beyond our abilitys at this point. In the mean time, don't you think we still should do all we can for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice?

Why would the President of the United States lower himself to answering to the blackmail of a charlatan?
