Hey everyone, you'll never guess what happened. I saw a light in the sky today, this evening (12/26/2020; 4:33PM Eastern time), then I turned away for a second and when I looked again it had vanished! There was no time to take out my cell phone and take a picture. But, wow! I might have saw a UFO.

Yeah, I know. I used the wrong word. But I used "saw" already in the report I sent to MUFON, so I decided to let that word stand. It's too late to change it

MUFON is one big scam. I'd stay away from them all they care about is what's in your wallet.

Well, yes they do want money, and they may not provide many services as payback for the money they charge for membership.

Still, there is one bright spot. They keep a map with UFO sighting data: UFO Stalker - Realtime UFO Sighting Map.

I thought I saw one as well in Albuquerque. There was a perfectly straight string of 10 or so white lights, about the size of small stars, equally spaced apart. They went across the sky from South to North and each one disappeared one after the other from North to South. Turns out it was just a string of Iridium satellites and I just happened to see them when they were visible in my part of the world. Only time I've ever seen them and I'm outside late at night pretty much every night.

I saw a really long straight evenly-spaced line one night that I am fairly sure was Elon Musks' contraptions. A lot more than 10 though. Probably 20-25.

Well, if the object was flying and you have no clue as to what it was, for you, it was by definition, a UFO. I have seen several of those and have seen many UO’s as well. OK.

When I saw a weird sky thingy about 20 years ago, I reported it to our Civil Aviation Authority, who transferred me to the Airforce.

I would advise that you go through official channels, rather than fruitloop groups. If your military takes it seriously (transfers you to their 'special' unit), you have pretty solid evidence that this stuff is real.

Millions of people have seen UFOs including me.

There are always normal explanations for them. UFO means uunidentified flying object so if you see an object flying and cannot identify it. That is a UFO.

Like one time when I saw flashing lights in the sky moving along with my car as I drove down the hughway. Really bewildering until a few years later I drove the opposite direction on the same highway at night and saw a couple of huge radio transmitter antennaes with the same flashing lights and realized what I had seen the first time was those lights reflected on the inside of my car's window.

It does not matter how many people see things it means nothing. There is no credible of extraterrestrial visitors.

Yes, an unknown flying object is technically a UFO. It just feels different this time because I didn't know what it was.

Ok, I reported it in an email to the town police over this past weekend. I haven't heard back from them yet, but it's still Monday.

Oh, and I might have signed away my rights to MUFON when I reported my sighting to them.

Oh, I just realized that the UFO I saw was hovering over a field across the street where they had cows roaming. I don't know if there were any over there at this time of the year, but yikes?! Cattle mutilations might be a thing in the future???!

Yep, a IDKWIWO (I didn’t know what it was object). I have seen lots of those, very different from a ITISAASC (I think I saw an Extraterrestrial space craft).

Police? Whatever for? Did the aliens commit a street crime?

You need to speak (in person, by phone - this part is very important) to your national civil aviation authority. Ask them who you should be reporting to.

Oh, that would be the FFA <Contact (faa.gov)>. Too bad their phone messaging system is unhelpful and doesn't have a menu choice for getting information. It looks like I have to struggle with this. I'll try again later.

I didn't phone them yet, but I've found this from the FFA website:

It's interesting, isn't it. After all, it's the responsibility of national aviation authorities to register and investigate air traffic anomalies. It's literally their job.

I would try the military, given that FAA doesn't want to touch it. Make sure you go to Airforce, and be careful and considered about how you handle it. Don't tell the whole story to the first person you speak to, else they'll fob you off as a nutter. They have units which handle this stuff, so you need to make sure you get through to them.

There are many that have no explanation like the video of Navy planes chasing what looks to be a giant tic tac and it easily just speeds away from them.

Considering the Navy was tracking it and sent interceptors after it tells you it wasn't just a weather balloon.

That is why they are called unidentified flying objects ( UFO ) which does not mean extraterrestrial.
