...continue to support Trump. Their existence in office may very well count on that continuing support. The base almost certainly will toss them out if they demur.

But I am baffled by the rank and file continuing their support.

Trump has no class; is almost inarticulate; is unrelentingly boorish; and has the temperament of an out-of-control toddler.

My brother, sister-in-law, several cousins and close friends continue to support him. I love them dearly...but very little of what they say about why they continue makes sense to me.

Just wondering if any of you have that same situation going.

In other words, you don't like his personality. People don't have to support him for his personality if they agree with his policies.

    I despise his personality.

His "policies" are a laugh, because his policies have less to do with making America great than making Trump great.

Why do individuals choose to willingly support any particular political candidate, when all political candidates demonstrate negative personality traits? Politicians only care about their own self interests, not about those that vote them into office. So why are any of them supported for any reason?

Bill Clinton had an actual banner that read, "It's the economy stupid". And that is huge. We literally have the left saying money isn't everything! Being woke is far more important. Ordinary people are going to disagree with that.

That last sentence is your opinion, but it is debatable.

Look, I would rather have a president whose policies I agree with than one whose policies I disagree with. Whether I like him on a personal level is irrelevant. His personality doesn't affect my life or the lives of my children and grandchildren. His policies, however, do.

So the difference for many is the difference between results and aesthetics. For Trump supporters, the results matter, for the resistance, only aesthetics matter. Obama had the aesthetics but not the results.

I know several politicians...and most are hard working and truly dedicated to their work. Most could make much, much more money (and with less work) in the private sector.

Many of the "results" are fake. Trump is all style, no substance and has been for most of his career. Appearances are all that matter to him.

"The results" of Trump is a catastrophic diminution of America's reputation and standing in the world, Hoosier. If that turns you on...so be it.

I'm to the right of Trump on economics. This is complete BS. Trump is just taking credit for economic trends that existed before he took office and have not substantially changed.

This is why there is such a disconnect between supporters and non-supporters.
Trump supporters believe what he claims to have accomplished and non-supports believe what he has actually accomplished.

I don't care much for his personality either. But I would be interested in your reasoning behind the comment that his policies are for himself rather than for his country.

Obama said Trump would need a magic wand to make our current economy happen. Trump appears to have said, "hold my beer." Of course there was an upward trajectory when Obama took office. 2008 was a catastrophe. But we are seeing unprecedented numbers. Now, I think a lot of these impressive numbers are simply built on stimulus debt. But we've been doing that for a while. And that the left has changed the story from, "Trump will cause a global depression" to, "Money isn't that important. Being woke is!" is instructive.

LOL, fake? You mean the great economy, great market, increased manufacturing, working with CEO's to bring back more, lowest unemployment record, etc., are all fake?

Everyone who can read a graph and has paid attention for the past decade or so know that you and Trump are wrong. We aren't seeing. "unprecedented numbers." The trend is the precedent and the numbers we are seeing are on-trend. The Trump economic miracle is a superstitious lie meant to dupe cultists who won't do their homework. Unfortunately, it is working.

All following the same trend they were on before he took office. For God's sake please read a graph. The numbers are real; the credit he is taking is fake and only fools those who refuse to do their homework.
