Its really quite pathetic that the NRA people will go to any length to stop even a private city/community of people who wish to live their lives free of guns that have literally 0 effect of their lives to force the 2a on them.

Go for it. You will find you have just as much gun violence as the rest of us, or you will be living in a "utopia" where daily searches are the norm, and there are virtually no civil rights.

(just FYI, it's border patrol and border. A boarder is somebody who rents a room in your house).

So, in other words, it will be a police state type city.

Really? Do you think that? The only saboteurs are going to be the criminals who will love the safe zone you've created. Nobody armed is paradise for the criminal element.

I'm not against it at all as an NRA member. Please produce your utopia. I expect it will be closer to a dystopia, but please try to do it.

That might be a challenge. First you'd need guns and some other rather substantial weapons to overthrow the US Government, then you would have to burn the Constitution and create new governing documents.

Where there is a will there is a way, but I'm thinking those are some substantial hurdles that would need to be overcome first.

Or build it in a state where they have barely anyone living in it and where it is off the grid then just build it and live our lives. Considering the city would likely become bigger in population then the state where it resides we could simply strike a deal with the government to be declared equal to a native reservation or simply use our numbers to put such a declaration in the states constitution.

All it would take would be one person saying, hey, this commune is within the boarders of the US, and the 2nd Amendment is in force. I want a gun. And guess what happens in the end?

Two things: since they are on private property, it would be no different than going into an establishment with a no weapons sign.

Second, they could be required to sign a contract agreeing that they are not allowed to have guns prior to being allowed to live there.

Oh I will, eventually, It will be a model for other cities/states/nations to follow.
Companies with good practices and good pay will be given contract monopolies on specific areas, for example, google will get the monopoly on internet and phone service while Microsoft will get the monopoly on computers, Trader joes and small shops that wish to do business will be allowed but no Walmart. Solar and wind companies will get control of the electric grid and one company will be in control of the whole water system. Same for all major fields and then the citizens of the city will per the contract be guaranteed jobs and all the benefits allowed by said companies.

You can't sign away, or even legislate away, the foundational protections afforded every citizen living in the United States via the Constitution.

Restricting guns in certain venues is considered a public safety issue. The right to bear arms is not eliminated.

It's the same thing as laws against instigating a riot, or the proverbial yelling fire in a crowded theater. The 1st Amendment suggest you should be able to say anything. But as we know, that is not true.

Well, depends on the state government. IMHO, a state government could regulate the city, based on the same kinds of laws that allow the banning of smoking on private property, etc. That said, I think we should allow this guy to produce his utopia. The U.S. needs a police state inside it, as a model of things not to do.

Oh goody. A monstrous gun free zone. A bad guy with a gun is going to love that place. Of course, you could build this huge impenetrable fence and allow no one in or out. Good luck with that.

Nobody's going to want to live in a city where the gangs rule. Nice fantasy, though. Have you thought about writing science fiction?

You can actually the supreme court ruled on this last year with the forced arbitration being legal. You sign arbitration and you sign away your right to go to court.

Heck, fit bad guys without guns will love it as well. With no possibility that they have guns, they will be able to dominate over the physically weak.

Doesn't matter. It's a city. It's not a dance club, or a bar. The Constitution doesn't stop at someone's property line.

I imagine you could get a bunch of people to populate this nirvana, but all it would take is one person, on the inside or outside, the file a lawsuit, and Nirvana has to welcome the Smith and Wesson family to the next coffee klatch.
