I trust the FBI more than Trump, but not completely (especially when it comes to Trump). They may either slightly hold back - for the good of the country or slightly dig the boot to teach him a lesson.

 

Trusting politicians and/or government would reveal gullibility on our part, not trustworthiness on their part. Using FBI/DOJ/IRS as political soldiers is not good for the country. This is nothing new. Such tactics are common in other countries.

There is no evidence that the FBI is doing anything other than following the letter of the law.

Again, if Trump were citizen John X, a much firmer hand would have been dealt.

Now, to make my point again. Perhaps if Trump had been nice and solicitous, being an ex-President they would have given him another couple of weeks to get those documents together.

No we don't, but Trump is claiming they are. If someone doesn't want that information out the easiest way to keep it from the public's eyes is to declare the documents never were unclassified "properly".
