ICE set to begin immigration raids in 10 cities on Sunday

(CNN)Immigration and Customs Enforcement is pressing forward with a plan to remove, arrest and deport families with court-ordered removals in 10 cities beginning Sunday, according to a senior immigration official, after President Donald Trump's tweet revealing an operation was imminent.

But acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan has been hesitant about elements of the operation, according to two sources familiar with his thinking.
ICE has said it was considering options to arrest and deport families who have gone through their legal proceedings but has refrained from publicly providing the scope and timeframe of the operation, which officials say could lead to a situation where a family is separated and could cause a backlash against the department.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keep in mind that many of these people that will be removed from their homes have been here for 20 years and have children born here that are legal US citizens. These people work, which means their employer will be harmed. Does everyone believe this is going to go smoothly without a struggle or without violence?

This is long overdue. Illegal immigrants have no footing on which to complain about consequences now. There's a process for citizenship if not born here. That process has no meaning if it's not reinforced.

There are literally millions, not simply '1 million'. It's estimated that it will take 24 years to forcibly remove all the illegals living in the US.

A little over 1 million with deportation orders. Those are the ones targeted. Do you understand the law?

Nah. They usually only go after those with criminal records...

In which case, they should have been deported long ago.

Were you even aware that DACA-eligible people contribute billions of dollars to the U.S. economy and take ZERO dollars back from it? Did you know that? Taking back the protections afforded to DACA recipients would upset local economies, communities, and schools, hurting employers and businesses dependent these young immigrants as workers and customers.

Most undocumented immigrants come to the United States because of work opportunities. These individuals are far more likely than the rest of the population to be in the prime of their working years, ranging in age from 25-64. Undocumented immigrants are not displacing U.S.-born workers. Rather, they are filling jobs that few Americans are interested in pursuing. Undocumented immigrants account for 50 percent of all hired field and crop workers, making them essential to the success and continued viability of American farms.

Maybe you, your wife or even your parents can go get a minimum wage job picking broccoli or strawberries once there's no immigrants to do the job that most Americans wouldn't.

    1. DACA is no more....at least until Congress gets off of their butt and pass an actual bill instead of a President illegally and unconstitutionally making his own law.
    2. They are not arresting all illegal immigrant, they are just going to attempt to locate and arrest those with deportation orders. Would you support the police not arrest a person with an arrest order for domestic violence just because their employer needed him at work on Monday?
    3. The lie that "they do jobs that Americans do not want to do" is just that....a lie. American would pick fruits and vegetables, especially if the pay was decent or the job market was tight. These farms that are hiring illegals are doing so because they can get away with paying lower than minimum wage as they know there will be no complaints (afraid of being deported). This is cause the wages for "pickers" to be stagnant to the point where the wages paid are not increasing to meet minimum wage requirements or to be attractive enough for legal residence or citizen to take the job. It is not the work the Americans will not do, it is the poor wages that are paid that most Americans will not accept.

Bunk, they cost us way more in free education, medical care, and crime.

So change the law, don't ignore it.

Americans won't do such work for depressed wages caused by massive amounts of cheap labor.

Funny how if you cheat to get into college you go to jail, but if you cheat to enter the US you get free college.

Maybe we could reform welfare so the able-bodied lazy folks receiving welfare who think they are "too good for these jobs" will have to do these jobs.

I'm sick of the excuse that "Americans won't do these jobs". As long as there are able-bodied folks receiving welfare, we have people who could do these jobs. We just need to reform welfare so they are forced off of welfare ---- and if it forces them to take jobs they think they're "too good for", I don't give a damn.

None of these are justifications for illegal entry.

Remember, if they don't deport AT LEAST 2,000,001 people by the following Sunday, then Trump will have told yet another lie....

    Oh wait.... from the OP

    SNIP
The upcoming operation is expected to target approximately 2,000 people, according to the senior immigration official.
    ENDSNIP

Hmmm... Does President Math Whiz know this??

P.S. If they take people who have been SCHEDULED and NOTIFIED of their deportation, I'm fine with this.....

Fat Ass gets ZERO credit for pre-scheduled events... (but additional hatred from Independents)

    My bad....you are correct.

I was aware that Trump had planned to phase out DACA in late 2017, but put that on hold for 6 months while hoping Congress would pass some legislation to replace it. I had forgotten that a Judge had said that even though DACA is very likely unconstitutional (based on how it was created), he allowed it to remain in place during litigation.

Are trying to tip off the illegals. Hell in LA alone all ICE has to do is drive down both sides of the street with a net in between and scoop up thousands of new voters
    Illegals.
