The nearest one to my place is 21 miles so I never eat there, even during Oblama..

How would you know? I thought you were a self-sufficient survivalist growing all your own food?

Is perusing the Taco Bell menu without buying anything a hobby of yours?

I've seen at least one closed here. By the way some of it may have to do with the fact that gout removes a lot of seafood from people's menu, much to my chagrin. Other folks on carb or salt or both restricted diets may feel that they really can't safely eat out any more. And then there is the growing concern over food allergens a lot of which I think is overblown.

Blooming Brands started closing locations in 2016....I dont know how up to date the articles you are reading but blooming brands is old news and occurred prior to trump. Red Robin demise seems to be with the changing expectations of the market which is not into slow service. TGI Fridays was closing ages ago. We lost ours well before 2016.

How up to date are these articles you are reading?

For every one of those "played out" restaurants that are closing, I swear I see two new ones popping up.

Wich Wich, Blaze Pizza, Naked Tchopstix, Noodles and Company, City BBQ, etc...

Maybe you don't see it out in the sticks of Arkansas, but I see them popping up like weeds over here.

It's hard to say. Business -- and especially restaurants -- start up and close down all the time.

And apparently eight trillion cant even buy economic growth either :) Well unless it was spent to that, and which it wasn't! Many economist content that the stimulus was not enough to correct the crash, even if it were spent to create jobs.. Many believe that it simply corrected itself and those companies and workers that never recovered or found their way back in to the workforce were never going to recover and NEVER did..

I ask the quest dozens of time on this site and NO ONE can give me a run down on how eight trillion fixed the economy. Clearly the money didn't put men and women back to work, didn't go towards infrastructure or any other work programs.. Some say it saved the leaders and financial sector, but, they simply tightened lending to the point they basically pocketed all the money. So how or what did two stimulus and years of quantum easing buy us exactly?

I think the saying "Never Waste A Good Crisis" explains more of what was perpetrated on the people of the U.S. by both parties to suck every dollar out of us and generations that will follow us.. And unfortunately as time passes the public forget and stop asking question but the damage "Debt" to this country continues to grows larger by the day, chipping away more and more taking a greater piece of our yearly budget!

So what ya say, want argue about getting rid of Trump, while the real culprits do nothing year in and year out? Look how well it's working out for ALL OF US so far!

It is a trend to try truly local food or support local small businesses. I almost never eat out at a chain restaurant and almost always opt to to go a unique place.
In the area where I live a good meal without booze will set you back $15-$25. I don’t consider that to be expensive. And I’m not seeing a trend of restaurants going out of business.
I do see a trend of large retail stores going down, but everyone seem to blame amazon for that.

The last time my wife and visited a chain restaurant (Applebees) we had a $40 lunch that was truly awful. Since we cook at home better than restaurants we quit patronizing them. We probably aren't alone. You have to give people what they want to buy.

Because of minimum wage hikes. Health insurance mandates and any number of left wing pet useless ideas.
