Few of em will ever admit it, but they obviously dont see gun ownership as a legitimate right and thus not something that can be discriminatory.

What the crap are you blathering about?

If you want to have a conversation, this kind of hysterics adds nothing but does kill any chance you might have of prevailing by reason.

The purpose of asking for ID during a gun purchase is to try to ensure the person making the purchase isn't intending to take the gun and shoot up in a church.

The purpose voter ID is to ensure that the guy wanting to buy a gun to kill a bunch of people in a church, can buy a gun and kill a bunch of people in a church.

No one is closing gun stores.
And you cannot show me a single person who is entitled to purchase a firearm who has been denied that right.

    So...

It is free in GA if you fall in the poverty line. Voter ID is tied to the drivers licenses, but if you just want the ID to vote cause you don't have enough for a car or a licenses, its free.

No amendment says "your right to vote 'shall NOT be infringed'". But you know, buying a gun DOES require the background check anywhere in the US, so you are registered for that gun purchase you made.

And I suppose we could also regress to the POLL TAX we all used to have to pay to vote.

If providing identification to vote is discriminatory against minorities because it makes it where some people can’t vote because they don’t have Id, how is that same logic not true to say requiring id for a firearm is discriminatory against minorities because it makes it where some people can’t purchase firearms because they don’t have ID?

One thing is not the other

    Sorry

The ONLY point of voter IDs and all the other means of disenfranchising legal voters is to try to limit the number of voters and eliminate as many potential Dem voters as possible.

Ya can't steal elections unless thy are close...so close is what Republicans want.

If someone is so poor they can't afford an ID to vote then they certainly don't have the money to afford a firearm and ammo so it's a non-issue.

Or better yet, we can go back to what the founders wanted and only land owners could vote, as long as democrats don't go back to making laws that only men could own land.

Which part? The land owner or the part that democrats made it illegal for women to own land?

Its not really elitist, its just a matter of the fact that those who have a vested interest in a neighborhood, county, state or nation, you tend to vote whats best for the community as a hole instead of ones self.

False. The point of voter id is to prove that you are who you say you are before you cast a vote on how our country is ran.

Thats not true at all. First of all the premise is false. The vast majority of the states with voter id provide free identification for voting.

It is discriminatory. But as it turns out an ID is required to buy a firearm.

Only a leftie could find racism in showing an ID.

Free? Why do you believe IDs are free? You mean no one pays for these IDs at all? Someone makes them for free out of the kindness of their heart?

    Here's why!

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-stop-admitting-that-voter-id-helps-them-win/
    and
    https://www.politicspa.com/turzai-voter-id-law-means-romney-can-win-pa/37153/

Republicans accidentally truthing in public AGAIN

and admitting that voter ID has nothing to do with election integrity and everything to do with suppressing the vote to help Republicans win.

Don't know why you people keep bringing this crap up just so I can slap you down again and again and again. Masochists?

Do you remember ‘Joe Cheeseboro?’” he asked, reiterating that election fraud has occurred in PA and across the nation.

“Rep. Turzai was speaking at a partisan, political event. He was simply referencing, for the first time in a long while, the Republican Presidential candidate will be on a more even keel thanks to Voter ID…Anyone looking further into it has their own agenda.”

It does help republicans because republicans like voter ID and many independents do as well. So passing voter ID which limits fraud and excites the base will help them win.

Are you seriously arguing he was telling a group IN PUBLIC, “we passed photo ID now them minorities ain’t gonna be able to vote!”

Because Republican pressed voter Id represses the vote. Not about anything but suppressing the vote to elect Republicans.

    Wisconsin:
""I think Hillary Clinton is about the weakest candidate the Democrats have ever put up," Grothman said, before volunteering the following: "And now we have photo ID, and I think photo ID is going to make a little bit of a difference as well.""

    North Carolina
"And then there's that infamous 2013 "Daily Show" interview of a local North Carolina GOP precinct chairman who said he was okay with it if voter ID prevented "lazy blacks" from voting.

"The law is going to kick the Democrats in the butt," Don Yelton added. He was later asked to resign over his racist comments."

There's more but it is clear. When Republicans accidentally truth in public they admit that voter ID is a fraud.

Maybe in PA but not in California or many other places. You just have to show up in CA and you are allowed to vote. In Colorado they do not cross reference mail in votes with signatures on file, they say they do but I knew a person that worked at the polling places and when I asked her if they did she just burst out laughing.

    It is equally discriminatory.
Democrats and liberals don't care, because they want to make it as hard as they can to exercise -that- right.
    Why?
Because it is more powerful than voting.

considering they shut down 1,200 polling places, I really dont trust the GOP to be honest about their intentions when it comes to making voting regulation stricter

Maybe he was committing voter fraud to prove his point?
