The shelters that so many lefties are wailing about provide 3 meals a day, snacks, medical and dental care, on site in many cases- plus safety, health support, educational support. They can't provide parentel love, but then the parents chose to put them in that position. They do provide comfort and reassurance, because the people in charge and the staffs care about children as much or more than their parents have.

The kids there are being cared for at a level that in most cases is above what they have had all their lives.

Charity is a good thing, it helps those who can't help themselves or are in temporary circumstances.
Welfare is a horrible thing, it enables those who won't help themselves and turns them into chronic dependents without pride or self-respect.... parasites.

 

MS-13 and other actively and passively imported violent gangs and cultures are not making this country great.
