If you're trying to really compare female genital mutilation, the fact that law rules that women get half the inheritance of a man or the fact that women are forbidden to marry non muslims to a so called wage gap. Ok.

I think that human being need rules and sense in their life. I wondered sometimes why western women would convert to Islam. But in a way I understand, they start to put a scarf on their hair and think because of that they're good and might deserve paradise, they are maybe in a relationship of submission with men, but they're in a relation with men, considering the number of lonely men and women.
All of that to says, some people would prefer primitive rules than no rules at all.

Furthermore, I would like you to mention those cities. As far as I remember there are the conflict there was those last 40 years in middle east :
_ Conflict with ISIS in Egypt.
_ Lybian revolution/civil war. A civil war until Sarkozy and Obama decided to intervene. I don't heard of any city being blown up.
_ The conflict in Iraq. It was an attack led on lies by Bush, but people like colin powell and condoleeza rice supported it. Countries like UK supported it.
_ Conflict in Lebanon. A civil war but it's not big secret than western power and Israel was involved in it.
_ Black decade in Algeria.
_ Syrian civil war. Again, no official intervention of the west if it's not to fight ISIS. However, it's no big secret that a lot of rebel groups got their weapons somewhere.
_ War in Yemen, at the beginning a civil war, the Houthi rebels are helped by Iran, then Saudi Arabia intervened. A big humanitarian disaster. If they're not involved in the fight, some western power are involved by selling weapons to the saudi or logistic one.
_ War in Afghanistan.
_ Civil war in Pakistan between the official government and the talibans.

So I would like, what's all those cities blown up by the euros. Because I'm curious. Maybe I forgot some conflicts but I had an extensive definition of the middle east.

Once you would have mentionned those cities, I would be curious to understand how it's related to the drama that poor young girl lived.
