Whenever i hear the title "former atheist" I laugh a little, because that would include everyone who isnt an atheist. Nobody is born beliving in Gods. They are born believing in a higher power, but the name is Mom.

 

The only Satanists i have personally met were either atheists who didnt actually believe in Satan but saw him as a heroic fictional character (this includes myself) or were edge lords trying hard to look edgy, dark and cool.

I dont think the number of people who call themselves Satanists and actually believe Satan exists is very high.

 

Too bad there isn't some document written by a bunch of people who supposedly were around when satan was doing satan stuff so we could put all the notes in a book and read it to see what's going on. That way we could really see if satan wants a tithe or just some holiday cookies w/milk.

 

While I was an Atheist I also tended to think of the possible Satan as a relatively heroic character......

Sincere but I do believe misguided theologians on TV had given me a rather negative view of the Creator...... so the Adversary to a Creator who I was told had bad plans.......... must be doing something right I reasoned??????

Now I suspect Satan is acting in the mind set of Stanley Milgram Ph. D. who designed the Milgram Experiment and his most obedient and most financially well rewarded followers are in the position of the "Teacher Subject's"

There are witches and warlocks, and they might not have been common in Western Europe after the witch trials, but they are very common in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, N. Africa, the Mediterranean. Anatolia and South and Central America.

At times people will go to a witch to cure what ails them - as they have throughout history, but there are people who will use witchcraft for personal gain, or to hurt someone who they don't like or are jealous of, etc. Not that it matters, because if they are that passionate and have that much hate and jealousy in their hearts, it's going to affect the other person in a detrimental way regardless.

What I didn't know is that there are professional witches and warlocks. I like to watch Greek programs on Youtube since I do know a little Greek. I came across an interview yesterday of a former warlock. He said there are 800 of them in Athens.

When he was asked if people are willing to pay a great deal - maybe a half million. The warlock said more, they'll pay millions. From what I understood, they do kill people, but cannot seriously and permanently hurt a devout Christian. God is in charge, but they can cause distress. I think he also said that spells will not take during Epiphany.

Just to let you know, it was the 1 1/2 million refugees from the massacres and destruction of the city of Smyrna by the Turks, that brought witchcraft into Greece. Before that, it was relatively unknown. They even made a Greek television series called; 'the witches of Smyrna'. Anyway there is no such thing as a good witch, because once someone is involved in the occult, it begins to affect their hearts.

 

Some say the same about Jews, Muslims, and Christians. And about Scientologists and Mormons. And Satanists.

There are indeed 'good witches'.

Modern day 'witches' usually take a vow of no harm, very much like Pagans and Wiccans. The Law of Three-Fold is quite strong, and for a reason.

Erebus is mostly the 'God' which those who practice evil pay homage to, while Hecate can play both sides, but is rarely used for true evil, just petty nastiness (jealousy and coveting) that would fall under the three-fold.

 

Of course all witches are not all evil, but any form of witchcraft no matter how benign, has to come from demonic forces, and they are the antithesis of God's positive and creative power. The end result cannot be good, no matter how self serving it might be to someone at the time. Frankly, I wouldn't mess around with the occult, not only for ones own sake and those they might affect negatively through their craft, but for the atmosphere of animosity it creates - which can lead to friction, wars and even natural disasters, since it breaks the bond of love holding the world together.
