So you believe because some guys from the 7th Century made up a religious fairy tale for their own purposes. Be sure to let me know when you meet the Allah character.

I wonder if Christians who believe Jesus was God have some kind of a special education on when to refer to him as a man and when to refer to him as a God.

Whatever is asked about him, the answer is usually either that he was a man or that he was God. God came to earth as a man, but was mistreated and killed because he was a man on earth and is God in Heaven. So why does he sit next to God in heaven if he is God? Does God have multiple personalities and a seperate body for each?

I'm a Bible believer, so I do believe that there are evil spirits and the Holy Spirit.

Yes, that special education is studying the Scriptures. Jesus was a man when he was born and lived on the earth until he was crucified. He was God before that and is God now. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is Hod. That is clear according to Scripture. I suggest you attend a good bible teaching church or bible school. I had the same questions once.

I know what I said, which I why I know you are being ridiculous. I may lower the boom at some point, but in the meantime I'll let you hang yourself like you've been doing for a few more weeks.

So what was he on earth, a prophet? It doesn't really make sense if we consider Christianity monotheistic.

Yes, Jesus was a prophet, a priest, a king, a rabbi, etc. Jesus was the fulfillment of everything. Actually the four Gospels are the end of the Old Testament. The New Testament really begins when Jesus shed his blood and died and rose from the dead. His death is the end of the old covenant, and his resurrection is the beginning of the New Testament.

Dude you haven't proven anything. You have made claims of him lying, but have yet to specify what those lies are.

"Dude", just read his posts with a clear mind and it is obvious. If you cannot/will not there is nothing to be done for you.

What you think is obvious is not necessarily to other. In this context, that is a subjective value. You made the claim of a lie. Quote the statement, and show why it is a lie. I'm not a mind reader and thus, even if I spot a lie, that doesn't mean it is what you are seeing. You made the claim, it is upon you to support it. Standard debate protocol.

I have to think about this because I don't fit in in any church really.......
I term myself a Hebraic Roots Universalist Christian Mystic........ so I think I could become Bahai and continue believing pretty much what I believe now.......... Reform Judaism might work as well....

In Post #70 you wrote = "The religious person dies a martyr for something they believe in. The non religious person dies for...literally nothing at all."

While that may be your opinion, people do not have to be religious to die for a cause. Maybe the other person regarded your statement as a "falsehood."

It's interesting you're trying to guess at what the other poster meant. I haven't tried to guess because based on his comments to me, he clearly has me confused with another poster, so I'm just having fun while he figures that out.

As to your comment on my comment, yes I agree that you don't have to have a religion or be religious to die for a cause. Lot's of people over history have died for principled reasons that have nothing to do with religion. However this comment was specifically about an atheist/agnostic being threatened with death for not converting. Accepting "martyrdom" under these conditions makes perfect sense for a religious believer, since they are denying for their religion, god, or version of the afterlife. An atheist who KNOWS that ALL of it is nonsense; and knows it won't matter to any of those things (because they don't exist) whether he mouths the words "I believe" or not. A religious believer who accepts death believes he's dying for a whole lot. An atheist who dies for the same thing is dying for literally nothing, and knows it.

Perhaps that be the best logic...they all point to the same nonsensical thing....
something that is not comprehensible. There are no words to describe.

IF.... Latter day Saints will rise up and take a serious shot at addressing the economic aspect of this COVID 19 pandemic......... i would have to do further research on their doctrines?!

With a billion infinitely precious human lives at stake.......... that I believe Mormons are in a position to save if they will give it their best shot..... then at least I would have to be willing to get baptized again..... for the fourth time..... by an LDS prophet...... and the LDS do have truly gifted prophets!

I'm already a certain flavor of Christianity. But if I had to convert to another, it would be either Greek Orthodox Christian or Judaism.
