Maybe the same reason most people don't talk about religion or politics at the dinner table. They have more important things to discuss and don't want their members arguing over religion all night?

So if you're a Christian, what could be more important?

LOL. I think you're going overboard with the whole "Christian" thing. There are many levels to every belief system. To societies with zero Christians, American atheists are Christian to them. You have people who just believe in a higher power, but concepts of it will still circle around the Judeo-Christian society that they were brought up in. You have jack Christians, those who are only in name, but never go to Church. Christians who go to Church, but more out of ritual than dire need. Christians who go to church and love it, but still hold certain things in higher esteem, like family and friends. And those you seem to be referring to, die hard, church knows no wrong Christians. Even at the dinner table, all but the latter 2 want to hear nothing of religion, at least anything more than a prayer. Reciting scriptures in Latin and burning witches isn't on the agenda. Do you find it hard to believe there is a club that recognizes the morality of those that acknowledge a higher power without wanting them to drone on about it at their meetings? I don't. It makes perfect sense in my eyes.

The Lodge is not a place for religious conversion. It is also not a place for pushing politics. Freeasonry welcomes of all walks of life, religion, and ideology. To disturb the peace and good harmony would counter the unity of Brotherhood.

Freemasonry doesn't recruit into the Blue Lodge. One must join of his own free will. Once one is a Master Mason the appendant orders can recruit. We are no religion but require faith, not necessarily church attendance.

Freemasonry doesn't seek to discourage one's faith, but it is forbidden to hold one religion above another. In the York Rite, it is predominately Christian and specifically in the Chivalric Orders it's a Christian oriented organization. Nothing about Freemasonry is incompatible except for the intolerance of some fundamentalist Christians.

This forum then is incompatible with Christianity. Shouldn't you be out and about?

Nice tactic! Enjoy praying to a god that isn't recognized by the Bible. Great Architect of the Universe, LOL!

That is a generic term, again, not to hold one faith above another. For each individual Brother the term represents the god of their faith. I pray to the Christian God. I do remind you however that you are in no place to judge nor do you have the right to try and define my relationship with God.

Believe what you want, but in religion there is no neutrality. I personally think Jesus would disapprove of an organization, that requires its members to be religious, but forbids the gospel to be spread. So, good luck with the Masons...

Of course you do. You're a fundamentalist that sees anything outside of church as unimportant. You can live a life to God and Christ, and not sound obsessed with it. You'd be more likely to convert someone showing your good character and not by shoving bull(*)(*)(*)(*) down there throat like so many try to do. Many of you zealots is what turns away people from the faith.

You have also yet to actually connect Freemasonry and the Bavarian Illuminati together.

Those who put Christ first are responsible for "shoving bull(*)(*)(*)(*)" down people's throats? And I assume the Masons remedy that problem by prohibiting the spread of the gospel? You're an interesting person, but I will not engage in a name calling contest with you. Like I said we both have to make our decisions and good luck with the Masons...

Suppose that a group of pagans got together and decided that they wanted to form a men’s club and each man independently decided that he wanted to start every meeting with a prayer to his demon god. They could all agree to this, but they would have a rough time selecting a name which all could embrace. Hindus would want to worship Vishnu, and of course, the men of other pagan religions would want to worship their demon god by the name they commonly use. They could not agree to use the name for the demon god of any one pagan religion without favoring one religion over another. Additionally, if they choose to use an obviously pagan name for the object of worship, they will have a hard time getting even immature Christians to join the club and join in worship with them. (And that is exactly what the demons would want.) If they choose a neutral name, such as the Sovereign Grand Creator of the Universe, and open all of their prayers in his name, all of the pagans can be satisfied. But are they now worshipping the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of the Bible? No, they are still worshipping demons.

". . . the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons. Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Are we stronger than he?" 1 Corinthians 10:20-22

The ones who "put Christ first" are also responsible for genocides and atrocities in Christ's name. It's the zealots that drove me away from attending church, which today is less about God and Christ and more about what the Church and it's leadership thinks. Like my political ideology I don't need some guy in a suit to run my life or define my relationship with God.

The prohibition is to keep the order in the Lodge as we have members of various faiths. Many of them are devout in their beliefs and do not come to Lodge yo be converted. Nor is Christian conversion the goal of Freemasonry. We do not seek to denounce or elevate nag one faith - it's called religious equality and tolerance.

Now in most Lodges the Holy Bible is present, but depending on the region it may be another religious book. Some places have the Torah, Koran, and Bible present.

As for the Mens Club piece, it's very obvious that many ex-Masons never studied the early history or it's requirements (many actually did allow just Christians in). They also don't get the concept of a group of men praying to the god of their faith. To say otherwise is to say you know what is in another mans heart. When we pray to Grand Architect I am praying to the Christian God. You cannot say otherwise, no man can.

By sitting in Lodge I am not partaking of another faith. (*)Nor do we worship in the Lodge.(*)

EMFJ constantly show that the ones who left knew very little and their hearts didn't take to the lessons.

Freemasonry doesn't teach that there is one god. I'd like to know in what ceremony/ritual or lecture that is found in. Praying to GAOTU you should only be concerned with what is in your heart and who you are praying to. Neither is there a god of Freemasonry as Freemasonry is not a religion.

I highly doubt you follow every piece of the Bible.

So you're not going to debate about the supposed connection between the Illuminati and Freemasonry?

It hasn't been too bad here in Al Amarah the last week.

Here's something interesting I found while reading the Gospel according to Matthew, Chapter 6 that concerns itself with the use of condemning Freemasonry on the basis of "secrecy is wrong":

You are so wrong. Accepted Christian doctrine states that Matthew 6 forbids the show boaters, or people who want the world to know how much money they give to charity, how much they pray, how "Christian" they are. Jesus would never accept the Bible being on equal footing with Quran

I was talking in reference to secrecy, all secrecy. You said it was wrong, the Bible says it is not. That is not wrong, as anyone can clearly see.

Not quite my friend. The opposite of bragging isn't secrecy. It's modesty...

Are you saying I'm lying? I can find verses that support my idea just as much as you can for yours; its called cherry picking.

Christ died so all would be free from sin Romans 3:23-24. Why would he condone secrecy of the Word? Please do more soul searching.

I just wanted to chime in and to agree with this statement 100%. I am of no religion and one of the main reasons why are those who are over zealous and persistent in their pursuit to change my mind. An absolute turn-off.
