Immediate Death or Shorter Life Span

    It’s your future baby girl. She will mostly like die unless this specific medical procedure is performed. The procedure may shorten her life span, but give her life now. What do you do?

    I say do it; medical science will advance and increase all human life expectancy, including hers.

    I agree that medical sciences will increase human life expectancy dramatically in the future.

    OTOH, gene splicing is currently extremely rudimentary. and our understanding of the "language" of all that non-coding "instruction manual" dna is akin to a toddler.

    Well if she is going to die without it then I don't see you have much choice.

    I think a better way to ask the question is if you would trade a shorter life span for perfect health or take a longer life span with poor health conditions.
