'The U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Sentencing Commission reported that as of 2014, illegal immigrants were convicted and sentenced for over 13 percent of all crimes committed in the U.S.

According to the FBI, 67,642 murders were committed in the U.S. from 2005 through 2008, and 115,717 from 2003 through 2009. The General Accounting Office documents that criminal immigrants committed 25,064 of these murders.

To extrapolate out these statistics, this means that a population of just over 3.5 percent residing in the U.S. unlawfully committed 22 percent to 37 percent of all murders in the nation. This is astounding.'

This only reinforces my belief that gun control is a political protection racket to generate votes and money.

They like their pet migrants a lot more than they like conservative rednecks with guns. It's really more about feelings & emotions than about actual facts & statistics.

Plus, if they bring these people in they actually have to – GASP! – live next to them in the cities. (Or at least close by, as far as gated private suburbs will allow)

If there's not enough gun violence now, it's an issue that can always be solved...

stolen: Almost all Americans believe in walls and fences. The difference is that some Americans want walls and fences on our national border while others want walls around their gated communities . The second group doesn't care about the people who live outside their walls.

Sounds like low brow guff! It would be easy to empirically test immigration rates and crime rates. Present one empirical study that achieves that. That would be much more interesting!

Would arrest records and statistics of the New York City Police Department
    suffice ?

It gives clear breakdowns of illegal immigrants arrested in N.Y.C. and crimes and convictions.

Here is a Government / ICE link

Because many many many more are killed by a lack of responsible gun control.

You know very well that "lack of responsible gun control" is not what is killing anyone!

You repeat that false statement too often, yet it is still false.
We have responsible gun control, you cannot buy firearms in any gun store without establishing who you are.
You need to pass a background check,
Fill out a form 4473 and another long form.
In all States, and in any case, there is a long list of prohibited persons, they cannot legally own firearms or carry them, they cannot get a concealed carry permit either.

That only leaves illegal black market sales, and even so, prohibited people get caught every day.

It is not gun control that saves lives, people do, whether it is the Police, or Security guards or armed citizens.

Laws are guidelines merely governing conduct.
    Criminals do not obey laws.

We have far far far more gun deaths than any other first world nation. We also have the most lax gun laws in that group. The conclusion is obvious

Explain how this is so then.
    Also false.
Gun control laws vary much from State to State, California has very strict gun laws and off the charts crime.
Mexican Gangs are very vicious as are the Bloods, Crips, etc...

Washington D.C. has very strict gun control,
;And a well Armed criminal element.

The united states is not a first world nation, and has not been for a very long time. Get over it.

We may be a First World nation but certainly not the First World nation. In fact if we are still using the Three Worlds concept then I would say the U.S. is teetering on the edge of First looking a lot like it is going to fall into Second.

    Google:

    Three Worlds Theory
    First World
    Developed countries
    Human Development Index
    Life expectancy
    World literacy rates
    GNP
    GDP
    GNI

Just those areas will give you countries for comparison

In this case, I think the criticism is justified. It reminds me of feminists who complain about rape culture except when immigrants from certain countries are doing the raping.

Significant levels of corruption at all levels and branches of government, no regard for rule of law by either the people or the government, widespread unemployment, massive levels of those who are uneducated, significant homelessness, unchecked illegal immigration, crippling national debt, just to name a few qualifiers. All of which demonstrates that the united states is not a first world nation, and that firearm-related restrictions will not work for such reasons.
