Ortega of Nicaragua has been killing priests and attacking Churches, all due to their opposition of him. Even firing on Bishops and harassing them. As it continues to escalate we can be assured more migrants will be making their way to the US. What say ye?

This weekend, paramilitaries in Nicaragua attacked a car carrying the Bishop of Esteli, and in a separate incident pro-government forces besieged students in a parish church, killing two.

Protests against president Daniel Ortega which began April 18 have resulted in more than 300 deaths, according to local human rights groups. The country's bishops have mediated on-again, off-again peace talks between the government and opposition groups.

Bishop Juan Abelardo Mata Guevara of Esteli was attacked in his car at a police checkpoint in Nindiri, about 15 miles southeast of Managua, July 15. He was returning from saying Mass. The paramilitaries damaged the car's tires and windows, and fired on the vehicle.

Together with his driver, Bishop Mata took shelter in a house which was surrounded by Ortega's supporters, who verbally harassed him for 90 minutes.

Barricades and roadblocks are now found throughout Nicaragua, and clashes frequently turn lethal. Bishops and priests across the country have worked to separate protesters and security forces, and have been threatened and shot.

Nicaragua's crisis began after Ortega announced social security and pension reforms. The changes were soon abandoned in the face of widespread, vocal opposition, but protests only intensified after more than 40 protestors were killed by security forces initially.

Anti-government protesters have been attacked by “combined forces” made up of regular police, riot police, paramilitaries, and pro-government vigilantes.

The Nicaraguan government has suggested that protestors are killing their own supporters so as to destabilize Ortega's administration.....snip~

The democrats will welcome them with open arms.

Except the bishops of course, they have no need of them.

There's so much instability in other parts of the world.
I wonder how long it's going to be till all that poverty and instability starts spilling over into the the U.S.

The question nobody asks: WHY are these other countries the way they are?? What's to prevent another country like the U.S. from eventually becoming like that too?

There is simply too much of a difference between "worlds". They were originally designed and considered as:

    First World - "The West"
    Second World - "Communist Nations"
    Third World - "Everybody Else"

First World nations easily have the most wealth and investment. Second World nations are often close behind, China has several areas where they are equal to or even better than some for instance.

However, the Third World has yet to rise up and build their own "modern" societies. Furthermore, First and Second World nations refuse to invest there, because they are a waste of money, corrupt or even flat out dangerous.

The VAST difference between worlds now with modern technology is simply creating an exodus of those nations.

This is incredibly similar to the German migration into Rome after 3/400 AD. It didn't work out too well for the Romans....

and then we need to remember that
The wealth of the west was built on Africa's exploitation

A new world is coming. The West - Brit then US imperialism is coming to an end. The second world are growing into something different and bringing the third world with them and of course we have technology so workers are going to be increasingly not wanted.

Yes, the West could become poor. The UK is having to stockpile food and medicine as our politicians are so stupid that they believe they are not even going to be able to provide that when they eventually leave the EU without a deal. The world has had countries or areas which have been the richest in the world and now are in squalor and unfortunately that could well be us in the future. Leaving the US to its own it would likely destroy everyone else if need be to keep more than its share of the cake but the second world I think will put a stop on that in time. I think the West missed a wonderful opportunity to bring to this world a truly benign way of living since WW2 and the intent was there to do that ...but almost immediately it was thrown away. The future my grandchildren will need to live in concerns me.

Reminds me of when Reagan was supporting death squad dictators in El Salvador and Nicaragua -- training the soldiers in terror tactics at the "School of the America's"

A bunch of US nuns were killed was was the Catholic Archbision "Romero".

These were a lovely bunch ... they would drag children over barbed wire fences until the flesh hung from their bones - in front of their parents.

    Oh .. sht .. I forgot Reagan was not a Dem !!
