The NYC school systems demands diversity at all costs – except for an exclusive school on the Upper West Side called "The Center School". The school has Byzantine admissions policies that make sure only the children of privilege (of whatever color) are admitted. No proles of the hoi polloi (Roman and Greek terms) need apply.

    quotes the link:

"As the Upper West Side’s District 3 struggles to bring 'academic diversity' and desegregation to the area, The Center School stands out as an island of privilege."

"The West 84th Street school is one of just eight middle schools in the city that has its own admissions policy, but most of the others have clear guidelines for entry, such as a student’s performing-arts talent or a lottery system."

"The school opened in 1982 to lure kids who were fleeing to private schools."

Can you imagine a more damning indictment of "diversity"? What you have here is an in-your-face statement that "diverse" student bodies do not perform well, and those with the clout can avoid having their kids go to public school with the great unwashed.

Parents should consider online schools for their kids. Instead of being forced into bad school districts, their kids can get personalized instruction and one-on-one tutor-like teaching from a learning coach/their parent. If you are a parent and your school district sucks, vote out all the people running it, move to a better location, or get your kid enrolled online.

Here's a race map of New York City:

The map uses data from the 2010 Census.

That map looks like there is a lot of segregation going on.
