    Hello fellow patriots of every nation. I am excited to throw my opinions into the mix with so many ideas on a host of topics. A little bit about myself may be appropriate.

    I am a child of the 60s-70s, worked on a lot of ranches in Florida and usually had horses most of my life. From a family of military members and served in the US Army myself. I have been in aviation most of my life from Army helicopters - Scale RC Aircraft to the drone industry supporting law enforcement activities and Boarder Patrol.

    I have become much more involved in the political arena in the last 6 years than I have been at any period in my life. I am a conservative who votes for candidates instead of party lines.

    I watched our first moon landing in 1969 from an underground bunker at McCoy Air Force base with my father and sat in Gene Kranz chair on the floor of Apollo Mission Control 5 years ago. I am a Star Trekeeeee from the first time the show aired in 1966 and like most anything Sci-Fi.

    I spent a lot of time reading through the post on this site and applaud the manor in which most account for their ideas and values in today's climate. I don't have a safe space for retreat and love a good spirited debate so with that I will say thank you for excepting my request to join and let the fun begin.

    There isnt a lot of 'good spirited debate' these days as most folks tend to believe their political opponents are trying to destroy human civilization and treat them as such.

    But welcome anyway :)

    Its a pilot thingy

    "Five by five" is a standard radio telecommunications expression. It means the best readability (the first "five") and signal strength (the second "five"). five by five is basically "loud and clear."

    I believe that was used by the pilot in Aliens. Or, at the very least, by the dropship pilot in Starcraft.

    Thanks for joining, you will find the moderators here are very light touch, I stepped out of line and only got a warning, which I richly deserved.

    Debating can be fun once you sort out the folks who want to debate, versus those who only repeat the same reply ad nauseam, you will quickly discover who those are, then you can just ignore them.

    This forum has an ignore option, I recommend not using it, doing so cuts back on the entertainment value of seeing what is posted. ;-)

    I love sorting out the posters of talking points vs actual fact based debate. When you have an election with two candidates that could only beat each other it leaves a lot of room for opinion. Hopefully I will not richly deserve a warning in the near future. lol

    Welcome! I am a Sci Fi fan also ..into space military but cannot stand steampunk, lately been into apocalyptic survival genre after getting Zombied out.... just do Kindle now cannot get into paper books anymore.

    There are those here who do like a good debate others just like to start threads or posts with " Lefties or Righties beat up one armed one legged
    pregnant Trump/ Hillary supporter who peacefully walking to church/ synagogue.. ... bla bla".
