This chart shows the percent increase in suicide rate, by state, over the last decade, from 1999 to 2019.

The states with the highest percentage increases were North Dakota (80.5%), New Hampshire (76.1%), Alaska 75.3%, Vermont (73.1%), West Virginia (72.2%), Kansas (70.5%), and Utah (67.2%).
If it can be pointed out, the first four of those states have high percentages of more rural working class ("redneck") populations.
Some of the states with the lowest increases were Washington (25.7%), Arizona (23.4%), Virginia (23%), and Florida (20.2%), California (18.3%), and Delaware (only 4.5%).

The overall US suicide rate has grown by 20% over the 10 years between 1999 and 2019.

With an age-adjusted rate of about 14 per 100,000 people, 2019 had the highest rate recorded in the US since 1942.
To put this into historical perspective, however, suicide rates were higher in the 1930s and 40s.
